We visited for the first time today and immediately signed up for a two year membership which gives us entry all year plus 10% discount on everything including the restaurant (but only on Mondays which is the day we visited). The gardens though small are just about perfection and are amazingly well maintained, the nursery had some interesting and extremely... More

Having good visited these gardens in summer a couple of years ago decided to go again over this Easter 2015. Big mistake as pensioners we were charged the reduced rate of £6.50....this in itself was a rip off as hardly anything was out. The management should have walked round and decided to charge a lower price until more flowers were... More

went for a drive out and pick up a couple of plants. The plants are yet to pick up from over winter so don't expect a load of colour that you'd find in town garden centres. The food used to be really good, so we ate in the restaurant on site as opposed to one of the excellent pubs nearby......great... More

We visited this February, and were so pleased we did. We received amazing customer service, great food, charming atmosphere. There is also a well stocked gift shop with homeware, decorative bits and handcreams etc and they have a large range of seeds and Roses to choose from, apparently gardens are lovely too but it was too rainy on day we visited.

On Dec 16th four of us enjoyed a wonderful Christmas lunch at Merriments. Truly excellent food, well presented. We were served by the delighful and amusing Minerva, who made us feel so welcome. The table we had booked was beautifully decorated, and we ate far too much - we couldn't resist, as it was so delicious! After lunch we enjoyed... More

We went to Merriments today, we often visit the garden, the nursery and especially the fantastic restaurant.. ....However it was one of the first times we have been there on a Sunday. It was a really lovely visit. The welcome is always superb, could not be better, both in the shop and in the restaurant. Today we had the roast...... More

Visited the garden centre and cafe for the first time in a couple of years. What a disappointment! We were shown to a table overlooking the garden. The outside tables used to be in a garden setting but are now on bland bare concrete with no landscaping in sight. There were cake crumbs on the chair and squashed food on... More

Took my ageing Mother in Law here for lunch as it offered straight forward home-cooked style food which seems to be what aged P's look for - as well as quick service. Scored well on both fronts although have to confess that the food was a bit too "home-cooked" style for my personal tastes. 2 courses for 3 people with... More

Garden nice, but very pricey, not enough plants for sale and staff generally did not care. There appeared to be an air of enthusiasm, but when asked about things, the answers were short and sharp-the smiles were there but not the honesty! The garden was more a showroom, nothing wrong with that, except not clearly marked and hard to find... More
