Our party of four took a tour of the Caroni Bird Sanctuary with Nanan's - a great experience indeed. Our guide was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about these unique wetlands. The highlight, of couse, was observing the scarlet ibis coming in to roost for the night - what colourful and amazing birds they are! Highly recommended.

We booked a tour of the Caroni Bird Sanctuary with Nanan's and we couldn't have found a better tour guide. Winston Nanan picked us up at the airport and because we had a couple of hours before the Boat tour would begin, gave us an impromptu tour out to see a Hindu Temple in Carapichaima. We drove by some interesting... More

As we had visitors in February this tour was a must and I have to say that having been a few times, it didn't disappoint. I enjoy having Kimraj and the boatman and guide as he is very knowledgable and has eyes like a hawk. Fortunately it was the time of year where there were, seemingly, thousands of birds and... More

We were lucky enough to ride a small boat through the swamp, guided by Lester, whose knowledge of the flora and fauna of the swamp area was truly astonishing. He went out of his way to find us a huge variety of birds and other animals, and gave us a unique opportunity to observe them at close quarters. The scarlet... More

This was the second time for us on Nanan's boat tour at Caroni and the experience is well worth repeating. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the mangrove swamp wildlife and each time we have seen cayman (small alligators), four eyed fish, tree crabs, snakes, rare birds such as the red-capped cardinal and potoo. The highlight of the excursion is... More

This 2,5 hours tour is amazing. On the way to the nest of scarlet ibis, you can see a wonderful nature around, Tree crabs, snakes, even small alligator, if you are lucky enough. They use wooden boats and our tour guide, he was great! He really was extremly passionate about what he is doing, yet funny. Nanan's organised for us... More

Nanan Tours conducts mangrove swamp tours. A large wooden motor boat is used. Three different types of mangrove trees are viewable as well as blue heron, scarlet ibis and egrets and the tree crabs the ibis feast on. The highlight of the tour is when the operator motors out to a small island where droves of scarlet ibis and egrets... More

Had taken the Nanan's tour which is about 2.5 hours. During the onward journey, it poured cats and dogs and was not prepared for that. The boat does have a temporary plastic sheet which was used to cover all the passengers. Once we got to the destination to see the scarlet Ibis, the weather cleared and the view of the... More
