Description:

One of the first true boutique wineries in Niagara, with vineyards first...

One of the first true boutique wineries in Niagara, with vineyards first planted in 1980, Thirty Bench has hit full stride in the last few years with the focus on small lots of low-yield handcrafted wines. The winery has earned numerous accolades, including Cuvée Gold (2011) and two consecutive top-10 finishes at the Canadian Wine Awards. Single-block, old-vine Rieslings are the soul of Thirty Bench; equally fine reds and Chardonnays have also emerged since the 2005 vintage. A visit to the wood-clad winery, or joining their mailing list, is the best way to access the winery's new and library wines.

I booked a snowshoeing winery experience with Thirty Bench and attended Saturday Feb 6th. There wasn't any snow and even though the winery contacted me beforehand to see if we still wanted to attend and gave me the option to rebook, we decided to go ahead as planned. Instead of snowshoeing, it was a hike through the vineyards.....what a great... More

Very friendly and welcoming. Tasting fee was waived from what I recall when I bought my bottle of $30 red. Lovely grounds and definitely recommend you stop here.

Excellent wine. Very pretty property. If we went back we would do a more formal tasting/sit down tasting as opposed to tasting at the bar. The wine is excellent and worth going to buy a few bottles. If you go, be sure to stop at Angel's Gate down the road too.

We had visited a few years ago and were not well treated. They were busy and didn’t seem interested in doing a tasting for us. This year wasn’t all that much different. They have a nice tasting area if you’re looking to do a seated tasting but the walk up tasting area is quite small and fills up quickly. This... More

My husband and I visited the winery in August on the recommendation of a couple who we met at a concert the night before. They're apparently members of the wine club there. We are very glad we took their advice because we thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting and ended up buying six bottles of wine (which made packing for the... More

This was our 3rd visit to 30 Bench. We must like it! It was great to reacquaint ourselves with their great setting on the Beamsville Bench with the Toronto skyline more visible that Wednesday morning then it had been all year (according to our wine tasting attendant) We love their Rieslings, the western Beamsville Bench area of the Niagara region... When we got tbere it was hard to find someone to ask about our scheduled tour. It was very busy and a little hectic with no information desk. I eventually stood in the wine purchasing line to find out where to go. For information about tbe winery and the wines they produce the tour in the vineyards was good. Our... More

Fourth time at Thirty Bench and it never fails to please. Arrived on a Sunday at 11:15am, perfect time to beat the crowds and have tastings at a more leisurely pace. Tastings themselves were fun and always delicious. Left with three bottles that I'll savour in the months to come! Stand out blends are Winemakers Riesling (blend of grapes from... More
