On my half day island hopping tour from Romblon town, Alad Island was the best stop. Its white sand marine sanctuary cove had views and clear water to die for, although there were not huge numbers of fish, probably testimony to the 'take all' mentality of some locals who face a dilemma in efficiently feeding their families. This Marine Sanctuary is great for snorkeling/diving, underwater landscape has many soft/hard corals, plenty of marine animals hanging out enjoying the atmosphere. Just a 35-45 minute boat ride from Romblon Island, great place to spend the day but take food because there arent any restaurants on this small island

It is difficult to describe why Alad is interesting, but it is. Very few facilities and a few nice beaches. A good place to anchor off in a yacht if you want to be away from Romblon town. There are no roads, but take a walk up one of the small mountains, the views of the surrounding islands are majestic.... More
