It is a truly unique and breathtaking experience:- the largest stalactite in the Norhern Hemisphere. Doolin Cave has opened a new Farmland Nature Trail, which is FREE for its visitors. We have unusual breeds of chickens, sheep, cattle and alovely pygmy goat called Minnie, with her little kid called Vincent Van Goat or Vinnie for short. We have also planted lots of native trees and shrubs and wildflower meadows. Our cafe serves lovely fresh salads, soups, breads and homemade cakes We are very proud to announce that we have recently been awarded a Gold Award from Ecotourism Ireland. Hurray! « less

Tour Guide was very passionate about the cave experience. It made for a very enjoyable experience. Did not feel rushed at all. Amble time to enjoy the majesty.

This was a great place to visit on a trip to Clare. The building where the tour starts is sensitive to the landscape and the cafe there is excellent with fresh simple home produced produce with top class salads and coffee.

It was rainy out, so instead of Aran Islands, decided to visit the Doolin Cave. We were lucky, there were only 4 other people with us on the tour, so made it extra nice. Jim is the guide, and he is wonderfully knowledgeable about the cave and related science - very interesting. Definitely recommend. You can only go in the... More

Thank you Valerie for taking the time to give such a comprehensive review of Doolin Cave. Yes, it is true that the cave is quite deep underground, hence the long stairs up and down. But for most people who can do it, it is worth the effort. We do tours every half-hour from 11 am to 5 pm and also... More

The Doolin Cave is an outstanding experience. The stalactites are breathtaking. Our tour guide (Tristan O’Callaghan) was highly entertaining and very witty! He is an excellent story teller and has an in depth knowledge of the history and geographical formation of the cave. Overall an excellent trip. Joe Arkins and Mark O’Callaghan

The cave shows the sec. lagest stalagtit of the world. Take the chance to take an impressing look at this 500mio yrs old artwork, growing only 15µm per year which is 1/3 of a hair diameter. Entrance fee of 13,50 is a lot but the experience is unique !

The Great Stalactite is unique and thank you for your review. It is the fact of its uniqueness that makes it a bit more expensive than other attractions. We have to protect the cave atmosphere by limiting the number of visitors, using specialised lighting and having scientists monitor the cave atmosphere. Hopefully these measures will ensure that the stalactite will... More

We have visited other caves but our guide was excellent. He stopped at the right times to tell us the history and the cavers that discovered it.....amazing story. Once we got to the central point interest and flicked the spot one, we were in awe. Doolin has one of the world's largest free hanging stalactites. It is so delicate and... More

We were doubtful about this tourist attraction because it was quite expensive but it was worth it. The guide Jim was great - very knowledgeable and friendly. There are 125 steps and this would be tricky with very small children. My kids (7 and 11) loved it. There is a lovely cafe and nature trail too.

This was an unplanned stop, but we decided to check it out as we got to Doolin earlier than expected. It was a cool tour, and glad we did it! Lots of stairs, and you might bump your head if you're tall. :)

Amazing stalactites! Our guide was very interesting and gave us a great tour. Also fun to sit by the fire in the restaurant/gift shop for a hot drink and scones!
