We love Arne as it is only a few miles away and we always take visiting friends there. If you are a novice bird watcher it is worth taking an identification book and a pair of binoculars. The walks are excellent, mid-week best and there is always something to see from the Skipsall hide. Today, 8th May 2015 we followed... More

If you’ve got a spare sunny day then there can be few more pleasurable ways of spending it than by strolling round the RSPB’s nature reserve at Arne. There is pay and display parking when you arrive which is free to RSPB member. Non-members pay £2 for up to two hours and £4 for over two hours. I would advise... More

Arne RSPB has something for everyone. It is a beautiful, tranquil place for a simple stroll, but with its varied habitats it is a must for ornithologist, naturalists and photographers. A path leads down to a narrow sandy beach with stunning views over Poole Harbour. Dogs are welcome on leads so all the family can enjoy this wonderful nature reserve.

Mid-week is essential for better wildlife spotting opportunities as it can get very busy here on weekends and school holidays. The deer can be very close and this gives wonderful chances for photography. The carpark could be bigger... but there's loos near the carpark and often the RSPB hut is open. There's now a ticket machine for carparking next to... More

RSPB Arne is one of the most beautiful of all RSPB reserves which I never tire of visiting. On a recent occasion I saw spoonbill, hen harrier, marsh harrier, avocet and Dartford warbler in addition to more common species of bird which are in abundance, especially in the winter. The warden and his staff are most welcoming and whatever your... More

We visit this place regularly and every season offers new wonders. Last visit we saw avocets and spoonbills and enjoyed the walks as well. The scenery is stunning and the hides let you take it all in at your leisure.

Have lived in the area for years, but this was the first time I attended the weekly guided walk at Arne. It was really well pitched and engaging. Im not a twitcher but really enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the fantastic wildlife in the area. Beautiful area, just a stones throw from Poole -really peaceful.

We have stayed in Purbeck many times but this is the first time we have visited Arne. It is very under publicised. With stunning views across to Poole, the mixed woodland with its winding paths, is home to all sorts of sea birds. There is a hide accessible to blue badge holders able to make the last 500 metres by... More

Attended Arne's Pull a pine event today. We have visited Arne many times but this was our first organised event. Well planned event with very friendly volunteers helping out. Tasty refreshments at reasonable prices. A good family trip that helps the RSPB and you take home a free Xmas tree. As a bonus the views were amazing. Great to walk... More
