The Cairnlea area was developed by VicUrban and contains a large number of wetlands and waterbodies designed to capture, retain and treat stormwater from the urban catchment. Australian Ecosystems has collected seed, planted and maintained all the wetlands on this housing project, totalling around 500,000 plants.This has provided habitat for numerous water birds.
