Beautiful rhododendrons, amazing trees and incredible bushes!

Had a lovely time, the house is covered in scaffolding but it didn't matter, the gardens and wider grounds are just fabulous.

This was a favourite family Saturday morning out,, whilst I walked the dog my daughter's learned to ride. We returned for the first time last Saturday, obviously the park has matured, but overall it was very much as we remembered it. We returned with our eldest daughter and son-in-law and enjoyed our walk by the lake. We were very pleased... More

I have been coming here all my life. Adventure after adventure when you are young, and a beautiful relaxing walk when you are not so young :) so many routes you can do with amazing views and beautiful gardens and old ruins. The courtyard is beautiful where you can enjoy a lunch- inside could do with a bit more unkeep,... More

Had a brill day, walked round the lovely gardens and scenery. Lots of ducks and very peaceful. Steer clear of the very rude man in an ice cream van selling Frederick's ice cream though in car park unfortunately he spoilt the end of our perfect day. Everything else was amazing! :-)

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Elvaston Castle. We took our bikes round and feed baby geese. We even stopped at the park and played on the swings because everybody is a bit of a child at heart. We then spent 2 hours helping a couple of strangers find their lost dog. We definitely got our exercise for the... More

I love this place. I literally spent my childhood growing up at Elvaston Castle, and although there's currently work being done on the castle itself, the surrounding grounds are so beautiful and something that Derby should be proud of. The gardens are so well kept, a few nice places to eat and fun for all the family!

This very interesting Victorian mansion is well worth a visit. If you are like me I arrived by public transport. Buses run every 20 minutes from Leicester & Derby so you can't want anything better but it is quite a walk to the castle itself but the grounds are very pleasant. I have given this an average mark because the... More

Having visited the showground here a few times for picnics with friends,I cycled here a few times and discovered the gardens and coffee shop. The topiary in the gardens is very impressive, although some of the shapes seem odd, one can see that they are trimmed regularly. I recently brought my in laws here and they were also impressed. There... More

I have basically grown up here. I came here everyday as a child and still come here as much as I can now. I know the grounds inside out and I am telling you now this place is MAGICAL! Please come visit asap while you can. The Council have been trying to shut it down for a hotel.

There are lots of different things to see and do around the park, you have a grassy area for sports and picnics, a whole trail around the park to include nature areas and different flowers etc. There are big rock structures to climb on, sit on or just look at. A stream with an old water mill, castle, wood carvings.... More
