Very welcoming. One of the nicest places we visited in Lahinch. View of the sunset was stunning. Lives up to the reputation

How about a close to 6 hour round at a wonderful golf course? No marshals, no effort to move things along. First nine was 2.25 hours. So, go figure. The course is wonderful and the people are great. Just take a day to play it. On the day we played they had run out of senior caddies. Our three foursomes... More

Popped into the golf club for a latte with my wife and mother this week(19th Aug). We all ordered lattes, but were a bit disappointed that there was a huge dribble of coffee down the side of each cup- a bit sloppy in my opinion. Latte tasted very nice though.

Played the Old Course- and this is probably one of the more challenging courses I have played. But I smiled the entire round. Only lost three golf balls, but that is due to the remarkable caddies who could spot a ball and follow it. If you don't get a caddy, then it probably is going to be a long day.... More

I got a mixed experience at Lahinch Old Course, even if we enjoyed great weather conditions (sunny + little breeze). First we got an issue to get a caddie, as all available ones only wanted to work for a two bags round only. Caddiemaster (very helpful btw) did his best to satisfy my request and someone came from home to... More

Thank you for your honest feedback I am disappointed to hear of your experience regarding a caddie. On extremely busy days we double bag most caddies to ensure that all of our guests are catered for. However, there is no excuse for caddies not fully engaging with our guests so I will address the issues raised by you as part... More

The food as usual is very good in the Golf Club. The Chowder is very nice and contains plenty of fish. All the dishes are hot and tasty. Service is good and the staff are attentive and friendly.

Lahinch should be on everyone's list of links courses to play in Ireland. Tough, but fair, with spectacular views of the bay and estuary. Better hit it straight if the wind is up! Agree with previous recommendation to take a caddy, as aiming points and trouble can be tricky. This is a course you'll want to play twice as knowledge... More

Thank you for your kind comments. Lahinch is one of the most beautiful courses, not only in Ireland, but across the world. To really enjoy your game, we do recommend that visitors, particularly first time visitors, engage the services of a caddie as you need that extra bit of local knowledge to shoot a low score and have a truly... True links (coming from US), and plenty of challenge. Weather was great for us (close to 65 degrees and 10mph wind, no rain). A couple holes have giant hills in the middle of the fairway, they look impossible (but really aren't). Highly recommend caddies as it will save you 5-10 golf balls alone. The bunker they call the Devil's a-hole... More

Thank you for your feedback. The 4th hole with the sand dune in the middle of the fairway is called 'The Klondyke' and was designed by Old Tom Morris in 1894. The next hole, is known as 'The Dell' which was also designed by Old Tom and is one of the most famous Par 3 golf holes in the world.... More

The course has many features, its challenging, tough, long, plenty of long (very long) grass, but great views and scenery from virtually every hole. The day we played there was a very steady sea breeze which added to the challenge on a number of holes. All up I would like to play here every day of the week. Pity there... More
