Lahinch should be on everyone's list of links courses to play in Ireland. Tough, but fair, with spectacular views of the bay and estuary. Better hit it straight if the wind is up! Agree with previous recommendation to take a caddy, as aiming points and trouble can be tricky. This is a course you'll want to play twice as knowledge... More

Thank you for your kind comments. Lahinch is one of the most beautiful courses, not only in Ireland, but across the world. To really enjoy your game, we do recommend that visitors, particularly first time visitors, engage the services of a caddie as you need that extra bit of local knowledge to shoot a low score and have a truly... True links (coming from US), and plenty of challenge. Weather was great for us (close to 65 degrees and 10mph wind, no rain). A couple holes have giant hills in the middle of the fairway, they look impossible (but really aren't). Highly recommend caddies as it will save you 5-10 golf balls alone. The bunker they call the Devil's a-hole... More

Thank you for your feedback. The 4th hole with the sand dune in the middle of the fairway is called 'The Klondyke' and was designed by Old Tom Morris in 1894. The next hole, is known as 'The Dell' which was also designed by Old Tom and is one of the most famous Par 3 golf holes in the world.... More

The course has many features, its challenging, tough, long, plenty of long (very long) grass, but great views and scenery from virtually every hole. The day we played there was a very steady sea breeze which added to the challenge on a number of holes. All up I would like to play here every day of the week. Pity there... More

Absolutely stunning views. Look at some pictures and then try to imagine it 5x better. The Old Course will test every club in your bag and make you play a lot of different types of shots. While demanding, it is ultimately fair. Its hard to imagine playing this course without a caddie as there are spots where you need knowledge... More

Brilliant golf links course. We played on calm day, I have to get back and try it when the wind is up. HaHaHa what a masochist.

What a great place. The history, the course, the staff. Truly a great experience for those who love the game. I played Lahinch on the final day of my 10 day golf trip and the track, routing and level of play made this course totally enjoyable - it rained, the wind howled, the sun came out, it rained again and... It's a lovely course. The caddy helps with all of the blind shots and suggestions on where to hit the ball + in looking for the same ball when it lands in the fescue. Be prepared for the cost of play before you go!

This course is a true challange of your skills. A lot of blind shots and a lot of target golf. The greens are tough but reasonable. Narrow fairways and rough that will eat your ball. Not crazy about some of the holes -- a couple of intersecting fairways and a couple with totally blind shots into the green. The views... More

This is a must course to visit in Ireland. Truly the way golf should be played. The fact that I birdied the Dell had "nothing" to do with my high rating for the course. The staff are very accommodating. A great experience.

Nice course but maybe a little overated, Some "tricked up" holes with a hole with an extremely narrow fairway and a blind second shot over a hill which cuts across fairway. Two holes which you play through an intersecting fairway. Obviously if your in the area you have to play the course but if you've played it before and you're... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us your honest feedback. The golf hole you are referring to is the Klondyke which was designed by Old Tom Morris in 1894 and is one of the most famous golf holes in the world. As it was designed by the great Master himself, it was left untouched during our renovations around... More
