Description: Lahinch Surf School is about Friendly, Safe, Fun in the surf.Established...
Lahinch Surf School is about Friendly, Safe, Fun in the surf.Established by John McCarthy, three times Irish Senior Surf Champion, John established Co.Clare's first Surf School to share his love and 'stoke' for surfing. Lahinch Surf School has stayed true to that dream ever since. When we're not surfing big waves at the Cliffs of Moher (the wave John named "Aileens"), you'll will find us at our 'Surf Centre and Cafe' on main street, Lahinch or at our Beach hut on the promenade. The positive ions are infectious dude!Courses: Outside of doing a single two hour lesson any day of the year, our most popular courses are the 'Weekend Surf Course' for adults, which is 3 fun lessons over the weekend and our Kids(9-12), Teens(13-18) and Grom(5-8) Camps in school holidays. You are welcome to come join the fun at Lahinch Surf School.

2 lessons over 2 days with my girlfriend. Definitely worth doing more than 1 with the same company so you can work on pointers from the first lesson. Instructors were really supportive and friendly. All gear supplied and plenty to go round if wetsuits didn't fit. Longer boards for guys like me (tall and a few extra pounds). On both... More

We had a group booking with Lahinch Surf School. Some of our group commented on the size of the waves however, from those in the group who had never surfed to those with plenty of surfing experience we all had a great time. Two instructors looked after us and were able to offer advice to everyone in the group. Great... More

I planned a day out with my son and his partner to Lahinch. They are regular surf users in Lahinch and always ring and book the boards they require. They normally book with "Lahinch surf experience" (Who are an excellent bunch) but this time they rang and pre-booked boards from here. got a voice mail back to confirm all was... More

What can I say? What a great experience! Mixed group of people some of who had surfed before and others who hadnt. The guys were great instructors and made sure we were all safe and happy. Special thanks to Eddie who kept an eye on me and helped me because I cant swim and am actually terrified of water....and I... More

We've surfed twice in Lahinch, both times with John's company. He and his staff could not be any friendlier. Both times, the instructors were excellent and gave us loads of time. John also made sure to ask us how we got on. It's a great way to spend a day or a weekend all year round.

I've surfed before but wasn't able to do so this trip. My friends were lucky enough to be able to meet John in advance of their lesson. What a great person! Oskar was wonderful and I played camera person as they both went from face plants to standing tall. A perfect location and surf for beginners. The price was right... More

The is a warning on the wall of the surf school that 'surfing is addictive' and my children emerged from their two hour lesson to declare that this is most definitely true. A great experience ( even for their watching and nervous mother) Will definitely be back

My girlfriend and myself were touring Ireland and found our way to Lahinch (or is it Lehinch...) by accident, we had great breakfast at Joe's and then wen't to the beach where we came across the small surf shack which was the Lahinch Surf School by John McCarthy. My girlfriend surfed a couple of times before so I had some... More

My 12 year old son and I surfed for two days. Really really enjoyed the experience. It was my first time and I found the instructors to be helpful and friendly. The waves the second day where massive! I took a bit of a battering but managed to stand up a few times. Equipment was first class too! We will... More
