One of the finest beaches in Ireland with a Blue Flag status. Beautiful golden sand. Extremely safe with lifeguards on duty in the summer season. It now has, recently installed showers on the beach to clean the sand off yourself before departing. Beautiful walks around it and on the cliff's above it. A little piece of Heaven in, Happy ~... The beach was so clean, kids absolutely loved it. There were bins located everywhere which is always great as no rubbish lying around. We had a buggy with us so just beware there's alot of steps down to it - the Men's beach on the other side is much more accessible for those with buggies, wheelchairs etc as it's just... More

Spent an afternoon on the beach this week. Weather was glorious so had a dip in the sea with our dogs. More suitable for surfing, body boarding and jumping about in the waves than swimming. So well maintained and clean, dustbins available, parking nearby, toilets, lifeguard on duty and dogs allowed - a credit to Kerry County Council.

I visited this beach on a lovely day. The cliffs/rocks have a fabulous black and orange colouring. The sand and water is clean and the views are beautiful. Very suitable for a walk along the beach or on the cliff walk above the beach. Plenty of seating available near the castle. It was a memorable visit.

Ballybunion has had great season, according to the traders we spoke to. So what brings them back, well for a start a great place for the kids with life guards constantly on the beat. Try Collins seaweed baths for the therapy, a pint and a steak at the Harty Costello's, walk to the Cashen to recover and when you need... More
