This is a splendid sandy beach that was Ladies only in Victorian times but is now open for all. The sea is clear and the beach clean. The water though in June was chilly. Waves crash against the cliffs on each side. Nice little shop with local ice cream. Parking is limited. Lifeguard is in attendance.

One of the nicest beaches anywhere. On a warm sunny day, the ladies strand at full tide is simply amazing and easily competes with the best worldwide (weather dependant). Clean golden sand, clean water and great waves overseen by lifeguards in summer season. We even saw the dolphins on one calm morning!

This is a lovely beach with caves at the bottom of the cliffs and the remains of an old castle at the top of the other cliff. The sea was calm and the huge stretch of sand meant there was plenty of room for all. There are even some hot seaweed baths, but I didn't have time to try them.... More

The water is clear, the beach is clean and lifeguards are on duty even early I'm the season. Even when I went so far out into the water, it never rose above my hips so I would call it child friendly as it takes a while to get any way deep. The sand is heaven. No stones, just beautiful smooth... More

There is a cliff walk and a path to the beach. It was low tide and the views were magnificent. The town is lovely and quaint. It was very enjoyable to spend some time in Ballybunion!

the view, hearing the incoming tide and waves crashing in this beach got its name from the local Nuns convent nearby, back in time only women would swim and sunbath at this beach, not saying there were not being watched by the men however.

I thought that this was an interesting beach, as there is something for children to do when the tide is out and the rock pools are exposed, swimming when it is safe to do so and then the lovely cliffs to explore. Having the ruins of a castle so close to the shoreline is just the cherry on the top... More

The ladies beach also known as North beach is brilliant. regular here also mens or South beach. Both Blue flag beaches, safe and great surfing location. Summer months lifeguards on duty and small pools on beach when the tide is out which suits little children to paddle in. Be careful of the ocean currents on the ladies beach by the... More

No matter what time of year this beach is beautiful and a lovely walk. Bundle up in the colder months and go for a swim when warm.
