The admission cost is expensive but you understand after your visit that their overheads must be huge, the heat inside the tropical jungle is incredible! The display and variety of creatures and insects in a very small space is incredible, and the staff are so enthusiastic about their work. Would be nice for a visit on a warm sunny day... More

Visited the Straffan Butterfly Park yesterday with 3 adults a 3 children and can't say enough good things about it. From the moment we got there the staff made us feel extremely welcome and for the duration they were always nearby with an interesting fact or some funny story. We got to hold and touch a variety of creatures and... More

Visited the butterfly farm this week and loved every minute of it! We went as a group of four ladies on tour and all four of us loved it. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly and so happy to answer any questions. The butterflies and the information section is fascinating and really worth the visit.

I visited the Butterfly Farm with a couple of friends. I found there could be a few more signs to get you there but this is my only very minor complaint. When we arrived we talked to the the very knowledgable staff and we got to hold one of the stick insects. The displays of butterflies and other insects from... More

We were there in July and my son tonight asked to go back before the end of the summer holidays. The staff were very good and interested in talking about all that is there. Nice picnic area - and good value for money!

We really enjoyed our visit, lots of amazing butterflies and fascinating facts,we got to hold leaf insects, stick insects,a snake, watched the lizard eat locusts. The staff were enthusiastic and very informative, there is plenty of information on the butterfly stages and an audio visual presentation that explains it clearly, you get a sense that this is a passion for the owner and it is... We went to the butterfly farm and were pleasantly surprised by what we found! Everyone working there is extremely friendly and very informative. One of the guys working there, Craig, constantly came up to us with information about the butterfly, insect or reptile we were looking at. We also got to hold a variety of insects which was definitely different!!... More

Very small 'butterfly' area and not suitable for kids as they keep banging the door. I appreciate that the costs to keep the area humid are high but there is so much more that could be offered. Think bigger please .. Picnic area, information on the butterfly stages. Interactive media, photos with kids etc . The spiders are interesting ..

It might have been busy when you visited and as a result you may have missed some things which I need to correct in the interest of other visitors. Firstly there is a well used covered Picnic Area whch seats about 30 pepole in the Woodland section beside the car park. There are also additional Tables and Chairs around the... More

Took a trip here today with our 4 children. We were greeted by such a friendly and enthusiastic guy at reception. The kids got to hold stick insects and leaf insects which they loved. They had great fun spotting all the different spiders, lizards etc. The butterfly house is amazing. Well worth a visit. Thank you to the lovely staff... More

I am home from the UK visiting family and took the opportunity to visit the Butterfly Farm. I had 2 Tweens in addition to younger children who were not enthused at the prospect! However from the moment we arrived they couldn't contain their excitement....they were completely enthralled (as were the younger ones). The staff were soooooo friendly and helpful and... More
