Stayed in Portsalon for a week self catering. We are not folders but we ate in theclubhouse every second night. The food is good, reasonably priced and good quality. Staff were friendly. A much nicer and relaxed spot for a drink.

Course is in a lovely setting, but not up to the standards of Rosapenna or Ballyliffin. Some very nice holes, but fairways a bit patchy and some oddities with screens and fences.

Didn't manage a round of golf but enjoyed the food in the club house. Oh what value. Service was excellent and the price was unbelievable. Lovely views out onto the golf course and the beach in Port salon. Very relaxing place will visit again

Probably not a course to visit if you are not familiar with links golf. Accuracy over distance is essential. Shame round was truncated by thunder and potential lightening - would have got most done if not for two groups of slow players. One pair in a buggie. Seriously! Wouldn't allow play through for four holes. Will have to revist to... More

A good and testing links course well worth the drive North. Spectacular views across to the Innishowen Peninsula with a beautiful curving beach which the course follows for its first few holes. Quality golf and all for only 35 euros a round.

Excellent course. Front 9 along the coast is absolutely epic. Back 9 is inland and therefore a little more mundane in comparison but the coastal views remain on most of the holes. Only 17 and 18 are quite weak boring holes but that doesn't take away from the all round experience. The 2nd hole is a great, great, great tee... More

We played the open on bank holiday. Monday, what a Treat it was to play such a spectacular course. I have to agree with Paul mc Ginley 2nd hole is one of the finest holes in the world, not that I would know. A very testing course and most enjoyable to play. The club house has good bar food with... Wonderful Golf. Course was in great condition - greens were slower than expected.

I've been to Scotland three times to play golf and this was my first trip to Ireland. The courses in both countries are beyond terrific but the settings in northwest Ireland are more spectacular in my opinion. Portsalon has a magnificent beach beside it. Its second hole may be one of the best par 4s you'll ever play. The drive... More
