Great history. All about golf here at Portsalon GC and its a very good course and well worth visiting....however if you want food then this is a place to avoid. Firstly we booked for a party of 6 and asked what time last order was, "sometimes 8 or maybe 9pm" was the rather vague reply, ok we will be there... More

Have eaten on two occasions quite recently, once at Easter and last week. Dinner at Easter was ok but...... dessert: fresh cream was 'off' and .......... was still charged full price for all the desserts despite making the staff aware! Last week the steaks were full of fat, tasteless and definitely weren't as described, frozen veg, sauté potatoes greasy and... More

A cracking test of golf over a superb links course. Quite a few holes with long narrow fairways. Starting with the second you can either think or fire your way round this tricky course.

Lunch at Portsalon Golf Club was the low point of an otherwise superb holiday. The catering is straight out of the 1970s, the service slow and indifferent and the decor looks like every expense has been spared - grubby, worn carpets and stained seats abound. The food was the sort of over-cooked, tasteless slop reminiscent of school dinners. The hake... More

The golf course is one of the best in the north west of Ireland. In excellent condition and very reasonable green fees. Buggies and trolleys are available. The clubhouse has a well stocked bar and very good restaurant facility - the menu was very satisfying and the staff were charming. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful views on the western edge of Lough Swilly, Take the coastal road through Ramelton and Rathmullan - beautiful scenery. Linx course with tricky rough. Bar available.

This is a golf course for people who want some peace and quiet while golfing. Go to Portsalon on a Monday Tuesday Thursday or Friday and you will feel you are alone on the golf course. This is a real test off Yellow or white if you choose green then fairways a within reach of the handicap golfer.

We always eat here great place for good food. Mainly bar type food. Good for kids menu. Sunday lunch great 3 course 15 euro. They also have another menu if you don't want full lunch. Usually very busy which is good sign. Friendly happy staff another plus.

Decided to treat ourselves to a meal out while camping and plumped for the golf club due to the views out to the beach mainly. After ordering what appeared to be a slightly ambitious menu in a fairly quiet restaurant we thought it was either going to be one of those surprisingly great meals or one you wished you'd just...
