A group of us decided on the Viking boat and were not disappointed. When the weather is lovely it's a very relaxing trip. This is a must do in Athlone!

I brought a group of school students on a waterway excursion from Athlone to Clonmacnoise. Going on the Viking Cruise was such a pleasant way to travel. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. There was a real focus on safety which was very important when travelling with such a large group. The Viking ship is so clean and well maintained.... More

They guys were brilliant and told you alot about the area as you went along. The views were beautiful, when you could see them....there were alot of people on the boat and although we were lucky to get a seat we were unlucky to have a load off people standing in front of us so we couldn't see

We were lucky. It was a glorious day as we set sail from the Hodson Bay Hotel along Lough Ree. Our captain and guide was informative and entertaining. The scenery is spectacular. The coffee free! And we moored right beside Athlone Castle, a treasure in itself. Adults and child enjoyed this alike. Great fun.

This is a lovely boat and looks very well maintained. The captain and crew are very friendly and the commentary was very informative. My granddaughter was given the opportunity to steer the boat. Unfortunately the weather was bad and it was very misty so I can't really give any other information. The trip took approx 75 mins. I am sure... More

Took the tour from the Hodson into Athlone. For €5 one way it was much better then any taxi. Two very pleasant gentlemen conducted the tour with great joviality and a very informative commentary. Tea coffee & beer available on board and I was very impressed to see it was wheelchair friendly. 10/10 to all. Looking forward to sailing on... More
