Our CIE tour made a stop at Jerpoint for a 'lunch' and a look at the lost grave of St. Nicholas. It is definitely off the beaten path as our coach followed narrow two lane road to get there. We arrived just about lunch time and were escorted into the 'family' dining room. It was a great room right off... More

What a tremendous couple. Maeve and Jo are articulate and knowledable hosts, who humbly open up their homes to visitors. 8 in our group, and we all agreed it may be the most talked about part of our trip when we get back to the States!

Stopped here on our tour. What a lovely place. Maeve served us soup, sandwiches, and scones with strawberry jam and tea. Joe took us on a tour of the lost town and exlpained how it was found after they purchased the property. Then we went to see the sheep herding competition. Cap was wonderful at herding the sheep with a... More

Our visit to Jerpoint Park was part of a (CIE) Motor Coach tour through Southern Ireland. We were there several hours and enjoyed tea and homemade scones with clotted cream and strawberry preserves served by Mave, and her charming children. She shared the history of their property and the structure we were in. Next, we took a walking heritage tour... More

I went with my husband and 2 children to visit Jerpoint Park yesterday and it far exceeded my expectations. The tour guide, Joe, gave a really interesting talk about the lost town of Jerpoint and explained how the town started and what might have caused it's demise. We walked around with him and he pointed out a wide range of... More

I visited Jerpoint Park with my family as part of Heritage week 2014. For anyone interested in the history and heritage all around us, I couldn't recommend a visit highly enough. The personal guided tour is very informative and the fact that this is a private site makes the whole visit completely unique - much more so than a standard... More

Dear Joe (and Maeve, even if unknown to us because unfortunately the tea rooms weren't open the day we came): Perhaps you remember us four people from Germany who visited Jerpoint Park at July 28th - we knocked at your door in the afternoon and you didn't hesitate to take us around (with the other three women, who had arrived... We were there by accident and intended to be at Jerpoint Abbey. Despite this the owners were very informative and told us all about their conversation efforts in maintaining Jerpoint, the Lost town. We couldn't stay long but we enjoyed our stay.
