Although a small Island there is too much to do in one day - or get the island Taxi - just 2 euros to anywhere on the island and walk back. There is a café near the main beach, just keep walking past the beach as far as you can go to reach some cottages, these are hostel style accommodation,... More

From the pretty port of Baltimore a pleasant short Ferry ride,to be be greeted on arrival by an efficient, economical island Taxi service.Alternatively walk up the hill past the dramatic ruins of an ancient Abbey, always in the process of being restored. Turn right to a charming Hotel the Islanders Rest for a resuscitating fish and chips ,with a wonderful view of... More

Paid a second trip to Sherkin in as many weeks and decided on this occasion to have something to eat in the Jolly Roger Bar. Nice pub with great atmosphere and good pints and the food reasonably priced. The owner, she's so pleasant and for that alone would make you want to come back. Here's to seeing you again soon.

Really nice quiet island, easy to get to and a peaceful walk. Definitely worth visiting if you have 3-4 hours in the area

Nice ferry trip over, pleasant walks and lovely beaches. There's even a mini bus to get tired beach goers back the the ferry!

On a sunny Sunday in July there was peace and quiet, glorious views, a lovely pub with good food and friendly artists and their studios. I'd love to go again.
