On all the trips out we didn't see any large whales or dolphins although we see some seals and fleeting views of some porpoises. Generally there really didn't seem to be a lot about. Having said that the coastline was spectacular and there were some amazing photographic opportunities. If you are in to geology then you get some very interesting... More

We have just returned from a weeks Whale watching with Nic Slocum, Nic arranged everything for our stay, from the hotel (see separate review) to our trips out and about. Nic took us to the local islands and walks along the peninsulas explaining the local history any wildlife. The weather on the boat was against us for the first part... More

We booked the trip with Nic Slocum in advance through the internet. Nic informed us that the morning and afternoon trip would be combined so we started at 12:15 with fine weather and a slight breeze, although the sea-swell would be considerable according to Nic. We didn't see any whales but a lot of dolphins and had a wonderful trip.... More

Didn't see any whales but we were briefed beforehand that there was no guarantee, but it was a very worthwhile wildlife trip. Nick Slocum was a charming and informative host who is clearly committed and passionate about marine conservation. We had a delightful encounter with a pod of dolphins.

The wind was in the wrong direction so no whale watching but we enjoyed a nature trip with lots of information from Nic. We called into Cape Clear Island for a drink and even saw Fastnet in the distance. A good trip.

We did this tour aware that whales are wild animals and that there were the chance not to see them...and unfortunately it happened. The only thing we regret is that on a 4 hours tour we spent 50 minutes for a "cup of tea" on Capeclear Island, even if we haven't seen any whale/dolphin/etc yet.

OK, the first thing I'd like to say is that our first trip out with Nic was fruitless when it came to spotting whales and dolphins but I went in with the attitude that I wasn't going to see anything so I won't be disappointed. This is nature and Nic explained before we set off that there had been no... More

Yesterday we'll make an incredible tour around the southern isles of Ireland with Nic, which is a great zoologist and an excellent sailor! We have also seen a lot of seals! Even though the weather it was not excellent, It was an amazing experience!

We had a brilliant but cold afternoon out whale watching. The boat was clean and stable even though it was quite choppy. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and answered lots of questions. We had a break on one of the smaller islands where there was a bar and a lovely quiet walk as not many people live there. We saw... More

It says a lot for this trip that my 19 year old, who is fairly well travelled and has been to lots of concerts and things teenagers get excited about, said that she would never forget it. We were lucky that we saw porpoises, a mincke whale, and several seals. The high point was definitely that a number of dolphins... More
