Responsible tourism award winner - Whale Watch West Cork runs responsible whale and dolphin watching tours led by zoologist and conservationist Dr Nic Slocum. All tours depart from Baltimore, Harbour, West Cork on board Voyager- daily between April and November (sea conditions permitting). Each tour takes you around the beautiful islands and headlands of West Cork, stopping at Cape Clear Island affording visitors an insight into the unique lifestyle of the islanders of Roaring Water Bay.

Our overseas arm, Whales Worldwide, runs exclusive wildlife holidays to unique destinations including Baja, Maui, Patagonia and Sri Lanka to watch whales responsibly in their natural habitats. Each tour is personally guided by Nic Slocum with a maximum of ten like-minded guests per holiday.

We are dedicated to providing each of our customers with a safe, comfortable and educational whale and dolphin watching experience. We seek to impart accurate knowledge on the marine mammals and other wildlife we encounter and on the wider issues of marine conservation through informed commentary with special emphasis on the current threats facing these unique animals and their fragile environment. We directly support conservation measures through education and research.

I don't have much to say other than don't hesitate to book this Whale Watching company if you are in Baltimore and looking for something to do it is a great day out! Despite the fact that we didn't see any whales on our trip, we did see dolphins, seals and a variety of birds. We also got to visit... More

Stunning scenery, very comfortable and stable boat, the most charming and informative skipper, Nic is not only a highly qualified zoologist but an extremely good teacher for all age groups. Warm gear and binoculars are recommended and hot drinks during the island visit will take care of the rest! Everyone must experience whale and dolphin watching in a lifetime and... More

professional service, very good on health and safety. Could have done without the proposed detour to Clare Island for tea break, it wasted time that could have been better spent searhing for whales, perhaps going out a bit futher than the 3 miles that they mentioned. Didn't like attitude of keeping info on whale sightings to themselves rather than sharing... More

Brilliant experience, a fantastic way to observe some of the worlds largest animals. Nic and Brendan couldn't have done enough for us and gave us a fantastic tour around one of the worlds most scenic places. We saw at least five different pods of dolphins and about ten minke whales, sadly just missed out on the colossal fin whale as... More

Hi Irish 0804 Thank you for making time to review your experience with Whale Watch West Cork. We are delighted you enjoyed yourselves so much and thank you for your kind words. Words cannot describe. Hundreds of Dolphins, several minke whales and fin whales on a pond like sea. Captain knew his stuff and get the best positioning for viewing. Spent more time than we were meant to whale watching, but still gave us time at the island for a walk and a pint. We were lucky with the wildlife, but it... More

Amazing trip. Saw Fin Whales, Minke Whales and Short Beaked Common Dolphins. The whales were lunge feeding at the surface amid loads of dolphins which provided for a spectacular experience. Additionally saw fascinating displays of gannets and Manx shearwaters feeding. Nic’s knowledge and enthusiasm seems boundless and made the trip so enjoyable. Highly recommended. Julie Williams
