Description: Bantry House and Garden is a stately home in southwest Ireland situated...
Bantry House and Garden is a stately home in southwest Ireland situated right on Bantry Bay with panoramic views of the bay and the caha mountains. The estate is owned by Egerton and Brigitte Shelswell-White and is managed by their daughter Sophie and her partner Josh. It has been in the family since the 1700s. The house contains original furniture and objects d'art. The garden is laid out over 7 terraces with a fountain, large wisteria circle and 100 steps leading up to the woodland. The house, garden and tearoom is open to the public daily from easter to october. The estate hosts weddings, music festivals and fairs. We have a separate review page for our B&B accommodation.

I stopped in at the Bantry House while travelling from Ballyvourney to Baltimore, Ireland and was very grateful to have beautiful weather for pictures. The house and gardens are absolutely lovely and a definite must see if one ever finds oneself in Bantry, West Cork, Ireland.

Rip off, not really worth the admission fee, it felt that they were trying to get as much cash out of people as possible

Went for afternoon, which was superb. We ate by the fire in the library, tucking into the most delicious and fresh sandwiches, cakes and tea. The portions were very generous and the service was exceptional. The house and gardens are absolutely gorgeous. The view from the top of the steps is breath taking and well worth the climb. I have... This a wonderful place- slightly sad and melancholic but what a setting!! The gardens and house are lovely and well worth a visit. Like all big houses that are privately owned the family face huge challenges trying to maintain this house and gardens. They deserve great support as it is part of our heritage-to sit outside the lovely tearooms as... More

We then explored around the gardens and finished with the tour, which... More

Came for afternoon tea, didn't want to leave! Interesting house, beautiful gardens, delicious afternoon tea by the fire in the library. Afternoon tea is good value as it includes the admission to the house and gardens. A lovely way to spend an afternoon
