A fantastic place to visit and well worth making the effort to go. Every turn is filled with fantastic features and artifacts that will have You wondering how they did it back in days gone by

Fantastic view over Bantry Bay. Gardens beautiful. House interior charming and interesting. We were unable to stay, as unsurprisingly it was fully booked.

We visited Bantry House and toured the gardens and house. Beautiful views! House needs major renovations but the family will have to sell many of the items in the house to do that. It's a shame, the house takes you back to a long ago time and should be a national treasure.

The house is worth visit, but what really impressed us were the gardens : while it's true that we've already seen more spectacular and exotic gardens the Bantry one is really charming. It's main plus is its location - overlooking the entire bay - when one climbs up the 100 step staircase you'll be rewarded by amazing views over the... More

Vaughan's pass is about a 5 mile round trip from Bantry town. Head for Drimoleague/Cork. About 2 miles out, you see a sign for Vaughan's pass on the left hand side. You travel a narrow road and come to a carpark and picnic area way up over Bantry town. There are views for miles, something that you would only see... More

First of all, the entry price is too steep for what you get. 11 euro without a guided tour. And the staff is not helpful or particularly friendly. We were given a "guidebook" (printed pages shoved into a folder, listing out the furniture in each room and a brief history of the house). Considering none of the staff had any... More

I am so sorry you did not enjoy your visit to the House and Garden. I am surprised, however, that you found my staff unhelpful and unfriendly. I have staff members who are art history students and who have worked in other Irish historic houses and National Trust Houses in the UK which means they can answer as many questions... More

I am so glad a chance stop brought you a fun filled day at the house. Our tearoom does a smashing job and serves coffee roasted here in Cork. Thank you for your visit and review Regards, Sophie Shelswell-White More
