Description: Bantry House and Garden is a stately home in southwest Ireland situated...
Bantry House and Garden is a stately home in southwest Ireland situated right on Bantry Bay with panoramic views of the bay and the caha mountains. The estate is owned by Egerton and Brigitte Shelswell-White and is managed by their daughter Sophie and her partner Josh. It has been in the family since the 1700s. The house contains original furniture and objects d'art. The garden is laid out over 7 terraces with a fountain, large wisteria circle and 100 steps leading up to the woodland. The house, garden and tearoom is open to the public daily from easter to october. The estate hosts weddings, music festivals and fairs. We have a separate review page for our B&B accommodation.

5 euros to tour the gardens of Bantry House. Beautiful flowers and plant life - it was worth the money in my opinion.

Seriously. What more can I say? It was like walking back through time. The history of this place is as amazing as it's beauty. The tour is worth it. This place is a paradise for amazing garden photo shots.

Took the self guided tour, although the gentleman at the reception took time to give us some background information before we started. The tour can be taken at one's own pace and the information leaflets at each room are great. The House is beautiful and steeped in history with historic, furniture, artifacts, paintings and a beautiful piano. The views from the bedrooms.....wow. The gardens... More

We were on our way to drive some of the Ring Of Ferry when the weather turned a bit misty, so swung Plan B into operation. I can honestly say that both my wife and I would not have missed it for the world. stunning house in a stunning location, with fabulous gardens, but oh those 100 steps! We didn't... More

Originally we had planned to head straight from Waterford to Kenmare but when I saw this place in the guide book I thought it looked interesting. It was absolutely fabulous and one of my favorite spots of the whole trip. I've toured many grand houses and this one was one of the best, feeling very accessible and like the 2nd... More

We visited Bantry House on a Sunday and were met by the lady of the House who was very friendly and helpful with lots of information. The tour of the house itself is quite short in terms of the number of rooms but what is available is exquisite, Some stunning artifacts, paintings, furniture, tapestries-I could go on quite a bit.... We visited Bantry House & Gardens on a beautifully sunny afternoon in April. At this time of the year, there is only one guided tour per day at 2 pm. As we arrived a little early, we had time to stroll around the gardens and sit outside in the sunshine to have tea with their delicious scones with clotted cream... More

is one of my favorite views of all the places we went to in Ireland. The house has seen better days, but the gardens were pretty. This was an unplanned stop and I'm so glad we visited Bantry House.
