We did not bring boots, but they were not needed for this beautifully planned, well graded walk in Connemara National Park. Well marked--basically impossible to get lost. Free parking and admission. There was a nice tea room and picnic area with a playground for kids. We loved seeing the lambs, colts and kids along the trail.

The connemara national park is just beautiful and you do not even have to walk very high up to have a nice view over the sea and the hills.

The quiet, the pubs with Irish songs, the landscape, the Atlantic Ocean so near, Mike taking me around to see the sights, the hospitality of some girls at a hotel in the centre of the town.

This is a beautiful area to walk and hike so we did a few short walks. The maps were accurate and helpful and the trails were well marked.

Great links course, not too challenging and even though it was open week it wasn't too busy. The bar food was also good .

Not being a keen walker, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the walk up Diamond Hill. The views were spectacular. It took us around 4 hours to complete the round trip. Walking sticks would have been helpful. Remember to take snacks and water and your camera.

A very informative centre, with interesting displays on history of the local area. It was very clean and tidy with good tea rooms which had a covered area outside to sit if the weather is not great.

The Connemara Walking Center does not exist anymore. The Diamond Hill trail obviously has not disappeared:-). Go directly to the Connemara National Park visitors centre at the entrance of Letterfrack (coming from Clifden on N59). Go early in the morning because the trail is very busy in August. There are 3 different trails, the longest brings you to the top... More
