This is a beautiful area to walk and hike so we did a few short walks. The maps were accurate and helpful and the trails were well marked.

Great links course, not too challenging and even though it was open week it wasn't too busy. The bar food was also good .

Not being a keen walker, I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the walk up Diamond Hill. The views were spectacular. It took us around 4 hours to complete the round trip. Walking sticks would have been helpful. Remember to take snacks and water and your camera.

A very informative centre, with interesting displays on history of the local area. It was very clean and tidy with good tea rooms which had a covered area outside to sit if the weather is not great.

The Connemara Walking Center does not exist anymore. The Diamond Hill trail obviously has not disappeared:-). Go directly to the Connemara National Park visitors centre at the entrance of Letterfrack (coming from Clifden on N59). Go early in the morning because the trail is very busy in August. There are 3 different trails, the longest brings you to the top... More

You can choose from 3 walking distances. The red one leads you to the top of the mountain. When you' re back you can visit the visitors centre and have some more information or a zipp of tea

Walks for all - we walked with a 10 year old who loved every minute of it despite constant drizzle. So much to see and the views are fabulous.

It was hard work (took about 4 hours round trip, but I'm not in the greatest shape) but the view from the top was totally worth it! Make sure to take sunscreen or a hat, food, and plenty of water. Walking sticks would have been nice on the way down, as the first section of the descent seemed quite steep... More
