Don't miss this little gem in Guardwell... Mary is a treasure, we have stayed at her B&B in the past, and always stop in for a pint when in Kinsale. We hear the walking tours led by her family are a great time, and hope to do in the future! God bless ya, Mary!

Last pub in Kinsale owned by someone born and bred in Kinsale. I think Kinsale has 23-24 pubs. In any event, you must stop by for a pint. It's an old pub - Mary seems to always be there with friends. My husband and I had a pint, took a look around and hung out for a bit. There were... More

Stop and see Mary and do the ghost tour. You won't be disappointed. We loved this little place while we lived there for 3 years. Best place in Kinsale to get a pint with friends!

The wife and I stopped here for a pint after exploring Kinsale, but before dinner. We sat at the bar, and while Mary drew two perfect pints of Guinness, we made a new best friend. The Tap Tavern is that kind of place - friendly and welcoming. It had an old world charm to it and looks like it hasn't... More

Great atmosphere and hearty local people! Some of the nicest we have ever met! This place has history, a great location and refreshing beverages! Mary also owns the Sea Gull B & B up the hill, she's quite a hard working woman!

I visited Kinsale at Easter this year and the Tap was a place that came recommended by family that had already been. I was told it was like walking into the owner's front room and that Mary who owned the place was quite definitely the boss. Well, all true! It's a lovely small little place with a real fire and... We went here based on the reviews it had received on trip advisor. The pub itself was quaint with lots of oirishy bits and pieces adorning the walls as well as a large number of american registration plates (we could see the attraction in this as some american tourists arrived in and spent time looking for a number plate from... We stayed just across the road from the Tap Tavern. Enjoyed the Ghost Tour and the atmosphere in the Tap Tavern. The locals were very friendly and went out of their way to help answer our questions.

This charming public house is situated close to St Multrose Church hosted by Mary and her son Brian, there is always a warm welcome assured within this friendly, cosy and quaint bar. Mary always has time for a chat for her regulars and visitors alike and Brian when not behind the bar offers an amusing Historical Ghost tour of the town.... More

Although this pub does not catch your eye from the street, it's a wonderful, local watering hole. Mary and her son (owners) are lovely people that welcome all into their comfortable pub. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The pub offers comfortable couches and a warm fire. The pints are perfect. Every second Tuesday, this pub offers traditional Irish music... More
