We asked a friend who lives in Kinsale for the best place to take American friends out for a few drinks and Tap Tavern was his recommendation. This pub is perfect. It is small, cozy, has a fireplace and excellent beer on tap. A friend told us don't serve shots because 'whiskey is for sipping'. The local patrons were very... More

A great, untouched original old pub. Limited seating but encourages people to mix. Lovely wood fire. Guinness, Beamish and Murphys all on tap. Owner Mary and son Brian run with care, and I believe the latter also offers a 'ghost tour'. Enjoy!

I always try to find the local places away from the tourists, and was please to have found The Tap Tavern. It was a quiet kind of place for a pint, but that's just what I was looking for. Mary does a great job, tell her hi and enjoy a pint.

Stop in and say hello to Mary behind the bar. She is the owner and a great lady! While you are there sign up for the ghost tour, which is fun and factual at the same time.

Small, quiet tavern at the top of the town. Great atmosphere inside and out (check out the back patio/old well). Mrs Mary is the perfect hostess, the fireplace and decorations make you feel right at home. Have a least one drink here during your stay!

This is something of a hole-in-the-wall pub; small room, short bar, with a somewhat limited selection. But it's the place the locals go to (as the proprietor of our guesthouse told us, in recommending we go here), and this was the first pub on our trip where we actually met natives, not just tourists. Very friendly atmosphere. Good post-prandial stop.

The Tap is wonderful pub run by the nicest family you could encounter - Mrs. Mary O'Neill and her son Brian. It has a great amount of Murphy's and Beamish memorabilia and a truly 'autentic' vibe. I've had my fair share of pints in The Tap and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good conversation over a drink... More

This Irish Pub has been in Mary's family for a long time. She sat with us and told us about all of the famous people who have visited her, including Princess Fergie! There are some memorable pictures on her walls to enjoy. We had several pints as she spun her tales. Make sure you stop into this wonderful pub.

A classic Irish Pub with Mary, a wonderful hostess. Great place to unwind and end your day. Never go to Kinsale without visiting with Mary.
