Forget everything you've heard about Old Head. It's better. Pictures can't due justice to the true beauty and dramatic golf holes that Old Head provides. Sitting on a promontory into the Atlantic, the 300 foot cliffs provide hole after hole of jaw dropping vistas. It's an amazing experience for those that love the game. While our travel itinerary did not include enough time for a round of golf, we did make dinner reservations, which allowed us into the club. The drive from Cork was beautiful, although wouldn't recommend night driving - you'd miss the views and possibly, the turns in the narrow roads. Old Head is incredible. One of the toughest rounds I ever played but loved every single minute of it. Staff & clubhouse are also worth mentioning. more

Played Old Head this past week (September 6, 2003). What a fantastic course! Cannot imagine a more beautiful vista. It seemed like each hole could be a signature hole for even the finest courses.
