My 10 year old son and I hopped a bus from Cork on an impromptu trip to Kinsale. When we arrived, we were sad to discover that the Tourist Office was closed. No sooner than we tried the door, Dermot appeared out of nowhere. I told him that we were headed up to see the Charles Fort and he proceeded... More

We're a South African/Belgian family who have roots in County Cork, Ireland, and this town has long been on my wish list of travel destinations. It is a beautiful place and I can highly recommend spending the hour or so walking around the town with Dermot Ryan. He's born and bred there and his tour is full of lovely anecdotes... More

I had done Dermott's tour once before, but this time, I shared it with my four adult daughters. Kinsale is a fabulous, historical town in Ireland, and Dermott knows it backwards and forwards. Highly recommended, and it's only five euros! More

We just happened to come upon this walking tour when we stopped at Kinsale. What a great tour. There is no way we would have ever learned or seen so much about this town on our own. Our guide, Dermot Ryan was not only fully informed about the town but he was very friendly and absolutely hilarious. I was actually... More

On a day trip out of Cork, we went to the picturesque town of Kinsale. Found a parking spot and were wondering along the waterfront when we came upon the Information office. While looking at brochures a gentleman handed me a brochure, which I somewhat ignored and kept looking around. Saw a brochure stand outside that looked interesting, then looked... More

Four of us Aussies just loved your walking tour. Dermott you have it nailed!! The tour is infomative & fun, a great balance, & all credit to you. We happened upon the start of this tour by accident, just as we were getting ready to explore Kinsale. I am so glad that we did- for only 5 euro you get a very informative walking tour of Kinsale and its fascinating history. Dermot is fantastic, extremely informative, and has some great photos and maps that bring you through several... More

Dermot Ryan's walking tour was the perfect thing to do while in Kinsale. The man is friendly, funny, and very knowledgeable about Kinsale! We had a great time, learned a lot, and got to see some parts of Kinsale that we more than likely would not have journeyed to ourselves! well worth the price and time! More

Nicely done. A wealth of information but much of it was done through pictures/drawings he carried of what life would have looked like back when. Many of the historical buildings or structures have been changed or are gone. Still Ryans gives a good talk and is very personable. Answered lots of questions for us. More
