We stopped for lunch in Kinsale, Cork after touring the Blarney Castle. What a beautiful little city. We ate at a small pub and then walked through the little town. We even found a cheese and pate store where we bought four types of cheese, some pate and bread and paid $8.00!!!!! Very reasonable and very delicious.

Dermot was a great guide to the village, and its part in the history not just of Ireland, but the whole world! Somehow Dermot made a link to everywhere that the other people on the tour came from, usually with a funny story thrown in. The tour route is quite compact, but this suits the majority of people, and Dermot... More

Had a wonderful time with Dermot on the walking tour today. It really is worth doing and his humour was really appreciated. He certainly knew his stuff.

Dermot Ryan must be a national treasure! Every important settlement and conflict in the last millennium touched Kinsale, and it was key in many. Desmond Ryan tells them all and in such color that you will feel as though you are experiencing the events! Best walking tour anywhere.

I rarely write reviews but I felt compelled to do so after the tour with Dermot. I would go as far as to say that it was the best tour I've been on and that's down solely to our tour guide - Dermot Ryan. We got a fascinating Insight into the history that surrounds the beautiful town of kinsale, however... More

Dermot Ryan is very knowledgeable and a great story teller. It's quite obvious that he enjoys sharing his town with visitors. He carries a binder with historical photos, etc., that he uses to further illustrate his stories about Kinsale. Much more enjoyable than walking around the town reading a guidebook!

We had gone to the tourist office in Kinsale to get some local restaurant tips and happened to be there when one of Dermot's tours were leaving (11am) and decided to join the tour, and we were so glad we did. He was very funny and informative and we learnt a lot about the history of Kinsale. The tour itself... More
