Fantastic and informative walking tour. So much interesting history to which Dermot added his sense of humour. The walk was easy and relaxing and so enjoyable.

The walk around Kinsale with Dermot was very informative, funny and entertaining. Dermot certainly knows and loves this town, and that came over in his talk. A big thank you to Dermot for the photos he sent me. My Father and Grandmother came from Kinsale, and it meant a lot to my brother and me to see the town they... More

Kinsale was primarily a fishing town, but has evolved into a restaurant/tourist area. It has remained small and charming and is worth the drive from Cork to visit this pretty place. We took the 1 hour walking tour, "Dermot Ryan's Heritage Town Walk," and had a delightful and entertaining time. The tour is given twice daily, by Mr. Ryan who... More

This was a fun way to spend an hour or so, with a gentle stroll round the southern most harbour town of Kinsale with Dermot - he was witty, knowledgeable and funny. An ex-school teacher with the gift of the gab - who could make Kinsale's politcal and social history and architectural sites accessible to the group without trivialising it.... More

You will love the quaint fishing village of Kinsale even more after you understand it's roots from one of the best. Dermot Ryan is a native and lives and breathes this community's rich heritage. Oh, and he's funny too! We can't guarantee you'll get the warm, blue sky day we had. But, sun or rain, it's worth the 5 Euros!

Kinsale, 18 miles south of Cork city, a beautiful harbor and breathtaking views. We have spent half a day enjoying Kinsale but I would recommend a full day. This historical town was the scene of the siege in 17th century in which the Spanish troops took over the town to help the Irish against Queen Elizabeth. Picturesque harbor, you can... More

We went on Dermot Ryan's tour early on Wednesday 9 July. I have to say that this was one of the best historical tours we have ever been on! Dermot's local knowledge, pride and obvious love of his town shone through, and made this tour for us. We also found him humorous and very affable, able to adapt his talk... More

Dermot brings the history of the town to life in a very enjoyable way. The heritage walk is informative, but also extremely entertaining, a truly unique experience that I highly recommend. Kinsale is a fantastic place to visit and this tour is the icing on the cake.
