Dermot Ryan is very knowledgeable and a great story teller. It's quite obvious that he enjoys sharing his town with visitors. He carries a binder with historical photos, etc., that he uses to further illustrate his stories about Kinsale. Much more enjoyable than walking around the town reading a guidebook!

We had gone to the tourist office in Kinsale to get some local restaurant tips and happened to be there when one of Dermot's tours were leaving (11am) and decided to join the tour, and we were so glad we did. He was very funny and informative and we learnt a lot about the history of Kinsale. The tour itself... More

Our tour had provided a guide to give us a tour of Kinsale. It is a charming little town. We had a shower interrupt our tour and had to scurry to find shelter. When the shower stopped, we continued our tour. Our guide told us historical information about the seaside fishing village of Kinsale. A pleasant tour.

Dermot Ryan's Heritage tiwn walk was one of our favorite tour on our trip to Ireland. Mr Ryan was articulate, a wealth of information about Kinsale and humorous. We could not have been more delighted with this tour

Dermot delivered the story of Kinsale in a witty and entertaining way. He put it in such a way that we could see Kinsale in an Irish as well as a World context. Lovely to be guided by him through this incredibly historic and beautiful old town! A memorable experience.

Kinsale is a beautiful little port town. They have wonderful shops, woolen, crystal and handmade chocolate. There is a lot of history and a very old church that is still being used for services. We also loved shopping with the current value of the Euro.

Dermot Ryan is an excellent guide: extremely knowledgeable, clear, witty and entertaining. For me, the best part of Dermot's fascinating tour was the way he presented the history of Kinsale within the context of the history of Ireland and, indeed, world history. He focuses on important issues, omitting irrelevant detail, so everything is clearly described. I strongly recommend Dermot Ryan's... More

Ryan is witty, well informed and welcoming. He is a charming host and excellent spokesperson for Kinsale. We really enjoyed the experience. He took a few extra minutes for us at the end of the tour to tell us a bit about our family history, which added a warmth to the whole event.
