What we found at the Island course just outside of Dublin was that it take all of the traditional Ireland Links courses and combines into 1 spectacular experience. The first Tee Box is majestic leading out from the clubhouse to surrounded by 40ft Dunes and leading right to the Ocean. Lot's of Character Holes...you want to keep the ball in... More

If your goal is to play great Irish courses, do not miss this one which often is not on the list promoted by tour operators. Pure links golf experience that ranks with finest in the country.

The island is a beautiful course in north county Dublin, hosts a qualifying event for the Open championship each year which says a lot about the quality of the course. It's tight and long which suits big hitters overall a very challenging course. A little expensive to play here but worth it with exceptional views and some really nice holes.... More

What a great day we had here. Great golf and caddies. The starter was a great ambassador for the club. There to help from the beginning. Took care of us our entire visit. The course was laid out with views from every hole. Loved the diversity of the holes. Don't miss this one when in the Dublin area.

This was our first links experience. We had a bit of rain, but were prepared. We had the toughest wind I have EVER experienced in nearly 50 years of golf. I'm a 12 handicap and was humbled by wind and the course. In fairness, our playing partner, a member, said it was the worst wind she had seen on the... More

This course is really what links golf is all about. It is not as polished as some of the Irish courses and you may lose a few balls the first time you play it because the grass is high in many places and the lies in the fairway are not very flat. It's relatively hard, narrow in many places, but... More

Tough tough course in the wind - but what a course. Loved it & would definitely recommend playing it. Lightening quick undulating greens and there is no easy shot out there at all. A great links course

This is a wonderful links course outside Dublin that needs to be on everyone's list. Fair test of golf with beautifully designed holes that are interesting and challenging. Dry weather made the course play fast and hard, and the greens were both subtle and tricky. On top of the great course are a wonderful, friendly staff starting with the pro... More

The course is really spectacular and a real challenge. Large dunes, narrow fairways, fast greens and great views. We played on a windy day which makes it even more challenging. A real Links course which we enjoyed very much. Staff is very friendly, specially the Assistant Pto Brendan Walton was a great help: A must play if you are in... More
