I really liked Dick Mack's. It was a local yocal old school nostalgic bar in my eyes, and it was great! A good beer was poured, everyone was friendly, and the old leather shop that used to cohabitate the establishment still was there in presence! A charming place. more

I think so. Oliver and the patrons at Dick Macks made us feel welcomed and like family... so much so that Oliver asked us to cover the bar while he went out for a smoke. more

We were here for our honeymoon (in our late 20's) this pub was nice BUT very small. THe best place to sit is in the bar area and that was all taken so we had to go in the smaller rooms...very quiet. This bar is laid out like a house so there are little rooms everywhere. I would go just... more

We LOVED this place. We were clearly tourists from the states, yet the owner, Oliver, made us feel welcome and at home. The rest of the crowd was clearly local, yet all they seemed to want to do was talk with us, find out about the presidential race, discuss politics, and talk about the Kennedys!! Everyone was so friendly and... more

I fell in love at Dick Macks to an Irish rogue, and in a longer lasting love with Dick Macks itself. From the first my friend and I were not treated like tourists and they sang me Irisih lullabies and argued politics and tucked me in my scarf at nite before sending me off. The owner ambled slowly from the... more

Fortunately,we were unencumbered by any other tourist-types when we were there, and so we were able to converse freely with the denizens, who were very humourous and personable. The thought of sitting on those wooden benches, with shoe racks behind us, and sipping... more

Despite the window decor indicating it's been visited by various global celebrities over the years, Dick Mack's was only partially overrun by foreign tourists on the night we visited. The front room, where they sell food and shoes(?!) by day, has communal picnic-style tables and seems perpetually crowded, but there are also multiple quieter back rooms, one featuring a fireplace.... more
