A quick walk from the center of Kenmare. Very peaceful setting and interesting landmark. Steepest bridge you've ever seen.

I had to laugh at any of the less than stellar reviews for Cromwell's Bridge. This is a structure believed to have been built in the ELEVENTH century. It still exists. Does that not, all by itself, make it worth seeing? I don't understand how anyone could not be fascinated. It is also very picturesque as it is in a... More

Just a short walk from Kenmare town this little gem is perfect for photos and is a nice and quiet place to relax and read a book or for a short walk.

Read the plaque & check out the wooded area on the other side of the bridge. Very cool. Stop & enjoy the stream, it's just beautiful.

Just on the edge of town this interesting little curiosity is certainly worth the short walk. If you have an interest in engineering or fancy yourself as a DIY bridge builder then this is for you.

This is an old pedestrian bridge that was in regular use until...sometime in the 50's? It has nothing to do with Cromwell but is certainly worth a look. And you can still clamber over it, which is good fun!

Loved coming across this amazing structure that dates back to the 11th century - there is a babbling brook running beneath it and it is right in Kenmare behind the Courthouse - well worth a look

It was a very easy walk to Cromwell's Bridge from town. It was a lovely, unique site and worth the visit. The plaque informed us that the bridge has nothing to do with Oliver Cromwell, but the translation in Irish for cromwell sounds like mustache if I recall correctly. Well you can see why the name by the shape of... More

We were told that this unique arched bridge was built in the 7th century by Franciscan monks to reach the well across the river , known as "Our Lady's Well" 7th century (1300 years old!) seemed an awful long time for a bridge to hold up when we've seen so many ruins dating to the 12th - 15th centuries, so... Picturesque old, arched bridge over a running brook. Worth a walk to enjoy the setting. With a little sunshine & reflections of the bridge in the brook you can get some nice photos.
