While Mrs W was visiting the Kenmare Lace and Design Center I popped into the tourist office in the same building to pick up information, and was surprised to find this interesting little museum. What's nice about it is that the sites described are all very close by--some within sight of the doorstep of the museum, others only a short... More

We viewed the Torc waterfall which was fantastic. We wanted to see the Muckross house and working farms but the farms had closed for the season and the house tour was an hour off. Absolutely stunning views driving through the park. Lakes galore.

We were quite thankful to come across this centre. We learned so much about the area and were able to acquire loads of knowledge and information to make our visit in this area of Ireland even better than we had expected.

The people were very knowledgeable and friendly. They were able to answer all my questions and recommend places to see and things to do. Lots of books and brochures to help you have a great time in Ireland.

This is a wonderful place to get an insight into the way things were. It must have been a tough life but it sure built people of character. Take your camera ---

Helpful staff and lots of information and exhibits. Lace center upstairs consists of one room, but you should visit.

Very helpful woman at the center provided us with the information we needed. Loved the little historical area as well. My husband had been looking to pick up a piece of artwork and we found a gallery--Brushwood galllery (from one of the prints hanging in the center) and ended up finding a piece we loved!

Pleasant hospitable people were a good source of information to us about the Kenmare. The place stresses the regional characteristics and traditions. The tourist center gave us a lot of information.

I would like to highlight the week long Halloween experience we have had with our 3 & 5 year old boy & girl this week in Kenmare. Both the community and retailers/Pharmacy's/Publican's/Restauranteurs etc have totally excelled themselves in coming together to enbrace the Halloween festivities. In doing so they have made this Halloween week a really memorable one for my... More

Not only did I like the Centre but I fell in love with the town! Yes, it is what would be called a tourist town but I absolutely loved it as I liked the look...the storefronts are so Irish with their sign and their incredible flowers hanging from window boxes and anywhere else they can put a hanger! And the... More
