The tourist center has historical information about Kenmare in addition to a friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend stopping in for information about the area.

Of course we enjoyed Irish coffee and tea after browsing through the beautiful sweaters and many more woolen articles, and walking through the old fashioned rooms with many very old pieces, clothes and furniture. We walked the farm, met beautiful... More

Well worth stopping in at. Lots of good quality, reasonably priced clothes. Got some souvenirs for the family and thoroughly enjoyed a slice of home made Guiness cake with a cup of tea!

I was fascinated by the furnishings in the old house, and for the first tiem, I got to smell a peat fire--- in the old big fireplace. They also have a farm -- restored up out back, but we spent so much time in the house itself,... More

Well worth the visit. It was out of season but still a great sunny day and the scenery was so beautiful. Visited the house and the animals with a baby donkey. Really lovely little place to make a stop.

Rose and I stopped at Molly Gallivan's on our way through to Castlemaine and The Phoenix. We were met by two of the nicest folks we'd yet encountered in Ireland and were made to feel right at home. We toured the shop and as we were checking out with our purchases heard about the American Wake/Homecoming event that next Tuesday.... More

We attended the "The Home Coming" it one if those things where the you are the " friends and neighbours" for the home coming party of the brother that's been in America for thirty years. A dram of poitin (the Irish white lightening) a nice dinner with wine and after you retire to the parlor for music and story telling.... More

Molly Gallivan’s is a must see if you are in the vicinity of Kenmare. Call or e-mail Stephen O’Sullivan, the proprietor, to book a reservation for “The American Wake” or “The Homecoming”. The music, dance and storytelling in the original 200 year-old farmhouse was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Ireland. The children and adults were absolutely thrilled... More
