This house is the most relaxed, realistic, warm, friendy, welcoming National Trust property brimming with history yet full of life and joy. It is a must see. In every room are people who really want to involve you, we played the organ in the chapel enjoyed a concert in the Victorian library and a lunch in the cafe. The mill... More

This is a very good example of an older country house. We have been back twice over a dozen years. It is so successfully organised and marketed by the National Trust that it understandably attracts big numbers. The house is very human sized inside. There are no grand fancy rooms but they are interesting and are worthy of a careful... More

This is probably the most picturesque National Trust property I have visited, even if it doesn't have the views of st Michael's Mount etc. I love Tudor Houses, and Cotehele does not disappoint. The gardens are also well kept and very pretty, I could've laid down in the courtyard and had a nap if there hadn't been other people around!... More

Give yourself plenty of time for your visit to Cotehele as there is so much to see and do. We started with a tour of the house which is a National Trust property and well maintained. It is full of interesting items. Then we wandered around the beautiful gardens for a while before getting the small bus to the mill.... More

It is the kind of NT property that you can visit whenever you feel like a break from the everday routine. It is great to enter a room or sit quietly in the garden, close your eyes and imagine the past unfolding in your imagination. The gardens change with the season and always a delight. Allow yourself the time to... More

A very pleasant afternoon spent at Cotehele recently. Dog friendly, the gardens are gorgeous. Perfect in June when we visited, loads of very interesting damp area planting, fabulous ponds and water features, with a pleasant walk to the Quay and Mill. The house was worth a visit too. Coffee shop pleasant but overcrowded on the Saturday afternoon we were there.... More

Decided to visit and make use of our membership and discovered another gem cared for by the National Trust. The house, gardens and watermill are superbly kept and all questions answered by the wonderful volunteers - The location and scenery of this area is fantastic, great time had by all the family and we will revisit next time we are... Visited here whilst on holiday. Fantastic day out with out two Bassett Hounds - beautiful walks, stunning views, friendly & knowledgable staff. The house itself is immaculate - almost untouched since Tudor times. Well worth a visit!

What a beautiful house,so peaceful. The volunteers were informative and obviously loved the house. The gardens were a picture. All in all well loved and it showed it. So much to see with the mill and the quay that it made the entrance fee good value (although we are NT members).Had a wonderful stroll down to the quay followed by an excellent lunch... More
