Lovely weather which helped and probably not under control of NT. Wonderful garland - good food - cheerful staff - lovely gardens and good walks near the quay. My only regret is that - for some reason - the mill is closed in winter. The site was crowded for the garland so I am surprised that the mill could not... More

This garland is 60foot long and is made of 36,160 dried flowers all grown on the Cotehele estate. It is made by estate staff and volunteers standing on scaffolding to assemble it in situ. It is open to the public each day until New Years eve except for Christmas and Boxing Day. Choirs sing on some days under the garland... More

One of my favourite houses to visit, mainly because it has a number of tapestries in the rooms. Has good grounds that can be explored in an hour or so. Don't forget to visit the folly in the upper field, it has nice views from the top.

We spend many hours walking around the grounds of the house with our dog - it's a great place to walk with lots of footpaths, and as an added bonus poo bins,. The house itself is great and at this time of the year the Christmas Garland is well worth a visit.. The walk to Calstock is quite short and... More

The house was pretty much as expected and in general the guides were pretty helpful and pleasant! There was one which we did have to laugh about whom when I asked her what a certain room would've been used for back when it was a working house I got the reply 'well I could've been anything, a store room, a... This trust property has limited access to the house. There are a couple of ramps available to view some of the rooms on the lower floors. Do not be tempted to go to the quay in your chairs as there is a steep hill. Drive down there after visiting the house Access to the house is via a ramp thought... More
