Another wonderful NT property that is well worth a few miles of winding lanes to visit. The parking is easy and close to the house and there is a shuttle service to take the less mobile from here to the waterside information centre, pub and mill which are down a steep hill from the manor house. The gardens are lovely,... More

The building and contents are spectacular and the volunteer staff in each room are thoroughly knowledgeable on every aspect of its history. This is the best informed set of guides I have ever come across- and charming with it ! A lot of the furniture is original and has been there for hundreds of years. The gardens are beautiful as... A cold and blustery day, so headed out of the parents house and down into the Tamar valley as I guessed, correctly thankfully, that it would be more sheltered. Had a lovely wander around Cotehele gardens, with loads and loads of Daffodils still in flower. Kids had a great time running around the new orchard area and looking at the... More

Love visiting at Christmas to see the floral garland and listen to choirs. The house has wonderful history, and the quayside and mill are well worth the walk to visit.

Plenty to do at Cotehele, good for a mixed age group and of course the dog can go too. Lovely Elizabethan house to view, with a large collection of artifacts, best one I have been to for a long time. The grounds are stunning, lawns, flower beds and great country style walks. Walk to the quay from the house, information on... More

Cotehele is one of our favorite National Trust houses. It is an excellent view of life from the 16th century till now. The house is fascinating, and the gardens ar beautiful. Textiles hang everywhere in the house (how to stay warm in the 16c and 17c.). The docents are knowledgable and gracious. The staff really cares about the property. We... More

The house begun in the 16th century was very well preserved, particularly the tapestries.i remember going in the 1950s and it has not changed much. The setting is beautiful with walks through the gardens all along the estuary with lovely rhododendrons. The quay is very interesting too. A word of advice-take your car up the hill to the car park... More

Firstly I would like to congratulate Cotehele on their amazing staff who were all so friendly and knowledgeable. Each member off staff we interacted with enhanced our experience further. Thank you. As for Cotehele, the gardens are stunning, the house is beautiful and the added bonus of being able to walk down to the quay and visit the Mill was... More

We have travelled extensively in Cornwall and visited most of the NT properties there. However this was our first trip to Cotehele and what an impression it made. The property is superb and the staff we met were fantastic, which always helps. Of course, it was a sunny day when we went, early spring so the flowers and flowering trees... More
