Great mix of farm and playgrounds - kids had a fantastic time! Staff were great and really friendly. Although weather wasn't great we had a brilliant time, seeing all the animals, watching the ferret races, sheep races, feed the meerkats and fallacies and handled the python and barn owl. To make the most of this place you need to get... More

Local attraction that we've visited lots over the last few years. They have recently made some excellent improvements with the erection of a new barn for a big cafe, great facilities at the riding school and several new (ish) play areas to keep the kids busy in between looking at the large number of animals at the park.. There is... More

We visited Matlock farm park with our 6 year daughter recently. She had a good time feeding the animals. They have a decent selection of animals - farmyard animals like sheep, cows, pigs, horses, donkeys plus illamas, alpacas, wallabies, meerkats etc. There were also smaller animals that you can pet (rabbits, guinea pigs etc.). You get a cup full of feed... More

First visited Matlock Farm 5 years ago and it was good then, just visited again in August 2015 and its now gone from good to great. There are lots of animals to see which you can hold and feed and there are now interactive experiences too. This is all complimented with the excellent climbing frames, cafe and shop and it’s... We went today with a family pass I had won in a competition, we have been on a numerous occasions and its a good for a few hours out. Since last time we visited in August 2014 I cannot believe the transformation, a lot of work and effort has been put into it. We didn't have food (only icecreams and... More

This was our first visit and was really disappointed. It was much smaller than I expected when paying £7 for an adult and £6 per child. There were plastic cups on the floor and in the animal enclosures. Tried to watch the sheep racing but couldn't see anything as other visitors were pushing! (although not the parks fault, still added... More

Very good little attraction. Able to feed the animals as you walk around the park giving the chance for education. New meerkats there now are very cute. Also have an area to hold guinie pigs, rabbits, baby chicks etc. great day for the kids!

We took our great grandson here last week. As this is listed as a farm park, we expected more farm animals. However, there were meerkats the children were allowed to feed, also pony rides for an extra £2. The staff organising the pony rides were lovely and gave my four year old grandson a really nice experience. The admission price... More

The park is lovely for young children theres a park for young and old. It's a lovely clean place with a petting area which my children loved!! The horse ride was the best bit for my girls and they still talk about it now even though they was on them for 2mins.The food is abit over priced but you could... More

As we were spending a week in the area we paid this place a visit. Our initial impression wasn't too bad, although the car park was rather empty for the time of year. Okay, due to the changeable weather the park might not have looked it's best but it was very clear it wasn't the best cared for place. The... More
