The farm has diversified by making italian style hand made ice cream here on the farm using the fresh milk from our dairy herd. The coffee shop serves 15 flavours of ice cream, also sorbet's, ice cream sundaes, a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks, giftware and local produce. In the adjacent field and barn we have micro pigs, rabbits, sheep, chickens, cows and calves. We are a real working dairy farm rather than a major visitor attraction therefore we do not charge any entrance fees however we rely on the income generated from the shop sales and would politely like to point out that Car parking, use of facilities/toilets and access to the animals is free of charge for patrons of the coffee shop only. The farm has disabled access and facilites and can accommodate educational group/school visits also childrens birthday parties. « less

Amazing ice cream made with the milk from the cows on the farm. There are also small farm animals pigs, chickens, rabbits etc so a fun place to take children (or big children!).

We went to the open day back in the early summer. I write this review as the kids are still taking about it- the weather was great which helped and we left just before it rained. The stalls were fab and we bought some craft items. The tractor rides showed me just how vast the farming area is that you... More

What a fabulous find. We intended to stop here briefly and ended up stopping a few hours! The children loved the animals, Calves they could stroke and watch being fed their milk, sheep, a pig called Pinky I think, rabbits & baby rabbits and of course the farmyard cat, who was a real cutie. There is a viewing area to... More

Working farm that had a small play area for young kids (5 and under) Nice coffee shop that sells lovely ice cream at reasonable prices. Few animals to see and some lovely baby calls. Spent around 90 mins here. Personally wouldn't make a special trip, however of in the area it's worth popping in especially if you have younger kids... More

We tried to visit in the thick of winter only to find it wasn't open every day, perhaps not everyone likes ice cream in January? Back in august and on a recommendation from my Auntie and 85 year old grandmother and we had a little more success! We arrived in time for a late lunch and we're outfaced by the... More

love this place, love the icecream and my 2 year old loves to look at the animals. It's constantly changing and improving. We really enjoyed the open farm day. The cafe's great and they're in the process of opening a separate area for private hire. I think the outside area needs a bit of a tarting up, maybe more small... More

We called the other day with our 4 year old grand daughter. She loved the animals and the slide climbing frame. A working farm with a barn with cows and lovely calves, and an area with some rabbits and a hutch, outside fields with sheep, lambs, a pig and some chickens and more cows in the distance. Some ride on... More

Had a lovely day at Matlock Meadows Farm the farm is a working farm which makes its own ice cream to help keep the farm going. The cafe area is dpotless and very well run with a menu of panini and other light snacks but the best thing is the pudding ice cream made on the farm with flavours like... More

We have visited Matlock Meadows many times and each time we see something new. We first visited the farm not long after they started selling the ice cream and wow it was superb. ....great choice in flavours and sometimes outrageously exciting flavours. I remember having "Hot crossed bun" flavour and wow it tasted like "hot crossed bun". Always a great... More
