I have always wanted to visit Chatsworth and was looking forward to a family day out. However, I was disappointed. It was a very expensive day to see things that I can see at many English Heritage and National Trust properties, for a fraction of the cost through my annual membership. The rock garden was the highlight, but the rest... More

As you come up the drive, one cannot help but to be blown away by the majestic view of the main house as you look across the meadows. The stables are some of the most posh accommodations for horses and would leave most people jealous. The main house provides visitors with one of the most extensive tours of any estate... More

Apart from the grandeur of this famous country estate Chatsworth, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, struck me as being a very big business. It must also be a profitable one or it would not exist. From the parking attendants in the paid parking area to the farm workers who labour on this gigantic farm, it takes... More

We were only able to spend 3 hours visiting this estate. I would have enjoyed an entire day here. The house was beautiful along with all of the art work. The grounds were fun. There were families scattered everywhere having picnics and playing games. We navigated the hedge maze and strolled through the gardens. There was a fun school band... More

At first it did seem quite expensive when booking our tickets online in advance however I can only say it was well worth it. We spent two hours walking around the house which was absolutely beautiful and extremely clean. There was good information to hand and the guides were all knowledgeable. Although the weather was not perfect we had time... More

Booked online for visit this year to gardens. Only downside is that when booking online it is for a certain date so unfortunate if weather bad. Booking gets you free parking. We were not disappointed this year as there were lots of new sculptures round every corner. We saw some parts of the grounds we missed last year due to... More

A good place to visit. However if the guide book was cheaper I am sure more would be sold. The staff on site are very knowledgeable and appear happy to answer your questions. The rooms are set out as you would expect in a stately home and lots of guide sheets around. The gardens are vast and well worth taking... More

As an elderly, disabled woman I was not looking forward to having to somehow find my way through the house and garden without a great deal of difficulty. How wrong could I have been. I was ushered to and from lifts in the house - which was magnificent - a very gracious stately home. Then, I found that there were... More
