Exceptional property and surrounding lands and gardens. Wear comfy shoes as lots to see. We were there during the week which seems the way to go as very busy at the weekends. Cost approx 20gbp each for entry to house and gardens. Picture perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Just wandered from the car park through the grounds and up through the woods to the tower - a pleasant little amble on a beautiful day.

We visited chatsworth on a lovely sunny day so we had the advantage of the weather. One of the hardest bits was getting in! Apparently the duke does not like signs so actually finding the way in proved difficult. We opted for just the house and gardens. The house was disappointing. We were told we couldn't take in rucksacks and... More

This is a must see attraction if you are in this area - book tickets online and you won't have to pay the £3 parking charge when you arrive. The audio tour is very good but will cost another £3 on top of the already expensive entrance fee (£19.80 for the house and gardens - more if you include the... More

Our third visit here in twenty four years and each time has left us with different memories! There is so much to see in each room and the gardens. The level of indulgence in the past is ridiculous and you can revel in the oneupmanship of the family as it tried to keep up with the other aristocracy. This house... More

We arrived later than planned with a coach party which was a shame as our time there limited what we could see. However we did manage to see some of the grounds around the house itself including the greenhouses with their exotic plants. Now to the house, beautiful rooms with a stunning library and our hour and a half was... More

A beautiful stately home with around 30 rooms open to the public as well as lovely gardens to wander through. With so much to see we thought it was good value for money.

Chatsworth House and gardens are a must-see if you're in the Peak District. The house is magnificent, the interiors opulent and the gardens triumphant. The presentation is altogether more polished than one might expect at a National Trust property which some may see as over-commercialisation but if this approach leads to access for all (if you can afford it) and... We have been to Chatsworth before and always enjoyed our visits. On this occasion we attended with our Chrysler Crossfire club and we were all able to park in front of the main gate. Staff could not have been more helpful. The house and gardens are beautiful. The new sculpture on the main lawn was stunning and the guide was... More

It's quiet a few years since I've been round the house and it was lovely. The house is very interesting and the staff are all very nice. If you haven't been for along time go again and then tour the gardens they are beautiful. This is a ver pretty part of our country!
