Spectacular gardens, sprawling around a lovely country house. The gardens meander, a little like a maze, so you can get lost among the multitude of plant life. I particularly love the water gardens. Great day out, in very relaxing atmosphere, set in lovely Peak District country-side, away from roads and motorways.

A great place to visit, either gardens, house or both. It is always busy but interesting. The story goes that even when President Kennedy visited the Devonshires he had to walk up the steps with all the tourists who could not believe who they were seeing. Lots of picnic spots and food places to buy your own or eat what... More

We have visited the Derbyshire Dales on many occasions and have never been disappointed. I visit to Chatsworth House was an absolute pleasure. With no preconceived ideas of what we were about to see, we were in awe of the magnificence and beauty of the house and its surroundings. The ceilings were stunning, the artwork impressive and the grandeur of... More

Well worth a visit, stunning, absolutely stunning. The gardens are well worth a visit, the ceilings in the main house are fabulous. Will definitely visit again. Only problem is we spent a fortune, too much choice in the shops. 😁

This is simply a superb example of a British Stately home and absolutely steeped in social and political history. It is huge. The tour of the house is extremely well done and takes in some stunning rooms, paintings, furniture and objects. The grounds are vast and contain many different individual gardens, as well as some world class water (from an... More

It's a really good day out. Touring the magnificent house was great with all the staff very helpful. The weather was beautiful which showed off the gardens and the outside of the house perfectly. The fountains and cascade was nice to see. A buggy tour of the gardens (£4 extra) is helpful to learn about the history and how it's... More

The house is spectacular from start to finish with every room packed full of amazing furniture and wall hangings. We really liked the modern art which is also spread out everywhere and the blend of old and new sort of works. The gardens definitely live up to the interior even though it was too hot for us to visit everything.... More

My wife and I visited Chatsworth while on a recent caravan holiday in the peak district. We had been told that it was a must see house. On arrival, we were charged £3 to park our car. That is similar to municipal car parks in the area. There were many hundreds of cars parked in the grounds. We are both... More
