I admit it. I wanted to come here because it was the inspiration for Mr. Darcy's Pemberley in P&P and also used as film location in the recent "P&P" adaptation starring Keira Knightley. I also had hoped to visit the Peak District national park proper itself but time did not allow. But Chatsworth is so much more. Yes, it's huge... More

As a regular visitor to the house at the time of the yearly country fair I heartily recommend a visit to both the fair and the house/gardens. Always a delight although the admission price can be steep for a group.

We only visited the grounds as it was such a lovely day when we went, but what a place to walk around, fabulous, not too difficult and nice paths to walk on we ended up walking 7 miles in total and also walked to Edensor where we visited the Church and had a sit in the sun at the tea... More

Spent Easter Monday here. There were a lot of people here but as the estate is so big it doesn't feel too busy. The house is stunning and in beautiful condition, the gardens are breathtaking. This is a fabulous day out for everyone and so much to see and do. Thats one off my bucket list! Amazing day out.

This was the 6th time that we have brought a group of almost 100 6th form students on a school trip from Uruguay. They absolutely love the house, as well as the gardens. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. This year we were thrilled to have a small brass band playing on the lawn as we chilled out with... More

Chatsworth is probably one of the best places in Derbyshire to have a great day at! We have a bronze membership pass and we go a lot!! The staff are so friendly and there is so much to do I don't know where to start. The house is marvelous and so interesting, the gardens we spend lots of time in... More

Went to see the Michael Craig-Martin art installations in the gardens which we thoroughly enjoyed in the Spring sunshine. The garden is beautiful with all the Spring flowers and budding trees at the moment. Although the entrance fee is expensive it is well worth it. Booking online is cheaper as includes the car park cost. Didn't visit the house this... More

We visited on Easter Saturday, as expected the place was very busy. It was our first visit and we weren't sure where to go. My father is disabled and the staff and volunteers were extremely helpful from the moment we pulled up in the car, showing us where the disabled car park was, taking us up to the stable block... On approach the view of the house and grounds is spectacular.Plenty of car parking including plenty for the less mobile near the entrance. The cost for parking all day is reasonable.Free for blue badge holders. You can walk for miles taking in the magnificent gardens and water features. It is all beautifully maintained. The house... More

As we were staying at the Hunting Tower, we were able to come down and spend our time exploring these beautiful gardens. Not so keen on this Spring's sculpture exhibition as I was on the one last Autumn. As one of my friends is a little limited in mobility, we tried out the buggy tour on this occasion which is... More
