Spent a week here in early January. The staff were all very friendly and the washing facilities were spotless with lovely hot showers. I expect this site is not the best for kids unless they like running around in the park as there is only a small playground. The gate through to the park itself allows you to get to... More

Known as the finest manor house in the UK, Chatsworth House is most worthy of a long visit (if you don’t know someone on the inside, the visit will be limited to less than a day). Whether you visit inside and or outside, give yourself the better part of a day. It’s really not something that you can just run... More

Been there about the time during Christmas season, wouldn't really recommend to visit during this period as most of the rooms are close for annual conservation, and often terrible weather in Peak District. However, I still enjoyed a lot! Love the theme decoration, it's Alice in Wonderland!! Spend a whole day in Chatsworth is strongly recommended, magnificent garden!

Chatsworth is one of my favorite places to go when friends from overseas come over to the UK. It's one of the best examples of English heritage and history. I've been to Chatsworth 3 or 4 times, I don't quite remember. But everytime I go I see something different. The house itself is breathtaking. I'm very thankful that we are... More

It's a must-do we stumbled upon on the first day of our travels. Splendid grounds around Chatsworth! The golden window-frames really make a difference to the facade compared to photos of the past, wish we could have seen the inside too but it was closed for winter; so will do next time:-)

Chatsworth House is undeniably beautiful. But the Christmas Alice in Wonderland exhibit was horrible! It covered the art and completely detracted from the house. The place was packed with families and kids and was much more a tourist/gift shop funnel than anything. Tickets and parking add up as well! But still, it's a beautiful place.

Although Alice in Wonderland is not particularly Cristmassy, the theme was beautifully and very tastefully done when we visited in November. The time and effort it must have taken to decorate the house was plain to see and the displays we're classy and very colourful. Some people have said that they couldn't appreciate the house itself due to the Alice... More

We drove through the incredible countryside, visiting country pubs before arriving at Chatsworth in late afternoon. The light was incredible. We had already decided not to visit the house because most was closed. The grounds and garden were lovely; a bit frosty and cool, but it's January! The scale and magnificance of the place from stable to the Capability Brown-designed... More

One gets the impression that year by year since the existing Duke has inherited the quality of the experience has been driven down. Cheap and simply to summarise the Christmas experience and was far less than previous. Duke has doubled car parking costs and I understand management has driven down terms and conditions for staff?? Feels moving to simply a... More

Went to the above attraction just after Christmas as it was the last few days of the themed Alice in Wonderland, with the snow on the ground this made the day even more special. Never been to Chatsworth house before but we had a great time the set up inside for the Alice in Wonderland theme was top notch. We... More
