Chattsworth is a an impressive place. It is not only a magnificent house and grounds, the staff are also lovely and welcoming. Well worth a visit. Lots to see, great sculptures, paintings etc. We were staying at Pinelodge in Darwin Forrest ( we purchased our tickets from them and got a good discount on our entry tickets into the house... More

This is a magnificent house full of history and grandeur. We toured on on our own but there are guides in each room who happily provides information on each room, what it was used for and about the different pictures and antiquities in each room. The gardens were beautiful, so much to see and not enough time in just 1day.... More

It was easy to find the house and well signposted, on arriving it was easy to park and locate the restaurant areas as we arrange to go there for afternoon tea for a birthday celebration. The afternoon tea itself was ok at best, the staff were pleasant and friendly, although I felt it took a little too long for the... More

I have lived in Derbyshire for most of my life and have visited Chatsworth many times but I am saddened by the commercialisation of the place. Every activity is becoming more expensive whilst the quality does not improve proportionally. The country fair is a case in point, a few years ago it was packed with people and stalls and activities.... More

The garden is well worth a visit, huge, really interesting. Farm shop is second to none and the garden centre sells an amazing variety of goods besides things for the garden

Visited Chatsworth recently and had a poor experience from beginning to end. Was greeted by around 8 parking wardens all in a huddle who took my £3 ( fair enough) and pointed me at a field full of cars, no more Parker's were down there and as it turned out the car park was full ( due to many Mercs,... At the end of the school holidays we decided on a day out in the fresh air. We intended just to visit the gardens and the perhaps the farm, but our granddaughter found the gardens totally engaging. Starting after a morning coffee we proceeded to the cascade just in time for the water to start flowing.we all followed it down... More

Sufficient parking close by that is free if you book the visit on line at least the day before your visit. The grounds provide breathtaking views over the countryside. The house is a must see and there are members of staff on hand in just about every room to provide the history of the room and the items contained within.... More
