Very pricey entrance fee but you'll not need to go more than once. Grounds are nice if spoilt with the modern art - it's not in keeping with the house and spoils it a bit. Lively walk up the drive to the tops and the ponds or Down by the river. Food here is fabulous. Again not cheap but it's... More

Chatsworth has often been refered to as such and is well worth a visit. You will not find better even in Buckingham Palace Not cheap though so if you are on a budget better plan accordingly!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed visit. one complaint - current display of 'sculpture' in grounds. large garish garden tools etc, all placed where the views were ruined! Not against sculpture, but would be better grouped together, not destroying the otherwise lovely views in the grounds. For example, one placed right at the foot of the cascade - bonkers!

What a gem! Set within beautiful countryside Chatsworth will not disappoint. The gardens are beautiful, spread over many acres with well defined paths and much to see as you stroll from fountains to a maze to modern architecture. The house is magnificent. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and add to the enjoyment of your visit as they inform you of... More

My wife has a blue badge which gave us a great parking spot. The buggy service made distances disappear and we were guided to and from the lift within the house by staff who were invariably friendly and efficient. Indeed all staff were welcoming and helpful.

If you only visit one stately home in the UK, make sure it's this one. The setting for Pride & Prejudice (the version with Colin Firth for devotees) and a truly superb home. Jaw-dropping art works and the sculpture gallery is stunning. Food is very good and not overpriced for what it is. Suggest a visit to the farm shop... More

Walked to Chatsworth via Caudwell Mill and Rowsley and Calton Lees. We enjoyed walking through the parkland from the Garden Centre watching the young lambs playing in the sunshine as we headed for our lunch stop at the Tea Cottage. Warm enough to sit outside watching two robins squabbling as we waited for our food. The tea room has been... More
