The tea room is average and overpriced. The formal gardens are unkempt. The plants for sale are wilting and look in need of a good watering. Not worth the fuel to get there.

We have been here a few times. And we have always enjoyed it. The little gardens are beautiful. The herbs and other things they have for sale are great. Lots of different variety and good prices. The tea room is really nice. The staff are friendly. The food is always good. You must try the lavender scones. They are delicious.

Spent a nice afternoon at the Herb gardens , have tea and a lovely piece of cake, lots of choice of cakes and the scones are beautiful too. Bit disappointed with the herbs on sale and only a very few plants left for bedding, even though it is only early June. a strange collection of junk for sale in a... More

The Groupon voucher that took us to this delightful tearoom was definitely worthwhile. Extremely friendly and helpful service. Afternoon tea was on offer, and they were able to provide Gluten and Dairy free sandwiches, which is more than many larger eateries can do! Being a sunny day in February and out of season, there were no Gluten free cakes available.... More

Use groupon offer and well it was garbage, only certain sandwiches you could have on the deal,no tea with the scone this was charged extra, all in all one to avoid, nothing like the details on the offer marks out of 10 I would say 1 as it was at least open!!

Liked the area, was in a quiet and rural setting. The tea room was traditional and delectible with deleicious lavander scones. The weather that day was poor however didn't ruin the experience. If the weather was better, would have definitely, made the day more enjoyable! However, didn't have many herbs on that particular day but there were a variety of... More

We went on a Groupon voucher and were not disappointed. Attentative and friendly staff, delicious food, freshly made to order and outstanding warm scones with clotted cream and jam. The charming gardens were not yet in bloom as it was only April, but there were healthy herb plants to buy. A really nice way to spend an hour or so... More

We had a lovely time. Obviously the herb garden needs more sunshine but I bet it wil look great in July. Scones were great but the star was the tea. Proper leaves and with a little bit of a smokey after taste. I fully expect to give five stars later in the year when the gardens will look lovely. I... More

We had decided on a walk as the weather was sunny and warm, an hour or so later we were hot, bothered and a little tired! So, one quick detour from the trail and we were in the Herb Garden, my first visit for many years. Its so near us, but we never seem to call in. Well, its worth... More

It's such a shame because I'm sure it could be/has been lovely here.... Not so much anymore I'm afraid... There is an array of herbs to buy but it is so unorganised-some outside, some inside under a tatty taupauline tunnel. I particularly didn't like or think it was appropriate to have dogs caged up right where you have to walk... More

Thank you for your comments Let me address some of your points The site was taken over by the new owners in April of last year and in that time they have started renovating the entire site which will take at least another few years to bring up to the high standards the owners expect. As any gardener knows this... More
