The Thyme for tea cafe at The Herb Garden is absolutely disgusting and looks nothing like the photo's. I bought a Groupon Voucher for afternoon tea for my mums birthday and it was such a disappointment from walking in the cafe until leaving! The appearance of the cafe on the inside leaves a lot to be desired. It's grubby and... More

We had decided on a walk as the weather was sunny and warm, an hour or so later we were hot, bothered and a little tired! So, one quick detour from the trail and we were in the Herb Garden, my first visit for many years. Its so near us, but we never seem to call in. Well, its worth... More

It's such a shame because I'm sure it could be/has been lovely here.... Not so much anymore I'm afraid... There is an array of herbs to buy but it is so unorganised-some outside, some inside under a tatty taupauline tunnel. I particularly didn't like or think it was appropriate to have dogs caged up right where you have to walk... More

Thank you for your comments Let me address some of your points The site was taken over by the new owners in April of last year and in that time they have started renovating the entire site which will take at least another few years to bring up to the high standards the owners expect. As any gardener knows this... More

I have to admit to not being a gardener so no real insight into that side of things. However the herb gardens themselves were small and seemed empty so perhaps need to be seen further into summer. There was a small selection of plants for sale but it all seemed a little run down. The tearoom was excellent though and... More

We went on a groupon offer which was good value for money. Very quiet even though it was Sunday lunchtime.; down to the British weather I suspect. Pleasant welcome and good cup of tea. The scones (I had the lavender, husband a fruit) were 100% fresh and the best I have tasted ever. Wanted to buy the lot and pass... More

Just returned from a coffee and muffin at the Herb Garden. The coffee was lovely and hot but the banana and toffee muffin was out of this world! This is a lovely place to have a cuppa and a catch up. Take care leaving though at the main road is very busy.

We were visiting friends who live locally and dropped in here to see what it was about. As we were visiting in winter, there wasn't much to see in the little garden areas, but I imagine it is very pretty in summer. The tea shop is small - perhaps seating around 15. We had tea and I had a lovely... More

Visited here using a groupon voucher for afternoon tea with my sister & son. Afternoon tea was presented nicely but sandwich contents were wet pre packed ham, Philadelphia & cheese. Lavender scone was nice but fruit scone was hard. The cakes wernt very fresh either. The outside toilet door does not close & I feel charging extra for earl grey... More
