Lovely building with great art collection

Very attractive building in nice grounds with peacocks wandering freely. Corsham Court is situated right in Corsham itself, so as I was staying in Corsham High Street it meant... read more

This wasn't well advertised so we didn't know what to expect. It wasn't an auspicious start as the attraction seemed to have a rather hostile bouncer and the first time we turned up in the morning it transpired it only opened in the afternoon. The contents of the house reflect two stages of collecting in the same family by people... More

Excellent house, so many rooms, helpful friendly people that you could ask any question. So many pictures, wonderful ceilings and interesting furniture. In fact we stopped there longer than intended as it was so interesting. So many lovely items but the wonderful Chinese exquisitely embroidered screen is amazing. We will be back.

This is a beautiful old country house in a park, with a lake and lots of peacocks. I can't tell if it's affordable to visit as a tourist, as I'm always visiting as a postgraduate student of Bath Spa University, and I'm really happy to have lectures in a place like this! If you find yourself in Bath or Chippenham,... More

A lovely walk in beautful grounds. Worth a look around the house but opening times are limited. Make sure you look around the church next door as well.

Our visit lasted all afternoon as there is a lot to see. The art collection on display rivals those in more high profile houses. There weren't many visitors while we were there so we had the very knowledgeable room guides to ourselves.

A lovely place to visit, a magnificent building and so much green! It has transformed to Bath Spa University's postgraduate building, mainly for Art lectures I think.

Very attractive building in nice grounds with peacocks wandering freely. Corsham Court is situated right in Corsham itself, so as I was staying in Corsham High Street it meant I could just stroll here and be greeted by this really impressive looking building. It was well worth a visit with a really good art collection and some lovely furniture. A... More

I wanted to take for a day out for my mum and cousin's wife. We went to Corsham Court since it was a sunny and beautiful day. We decided to buy ticket for only garden, hoping it to be a nice and lovely flower. But to our surprise, we finished walking in 20 mins. There was not any garden. We... More

The gardens at Corsham Court have been open to the public since the Second World War. We employ four gardeners, three of whom work full-time. The gardens consist of areas of formal borders, a walled garden, distinct shrubberies, the Grade I listed Georgian Bath House and mature specimen trees (over 30 species), including the oriental plane, which is registered as... The house looks imposing from the drive. We hadn't really realised it was a picture gallery, so the rooms were kept dark so as to preserve the paintings, which gave the house a rather gloomy atmosphere. We would like to have know a little more about the building itself. We found the gardens more appealing, but unfortunately the rain came... More

The day we visited Corsham Court it was rainy. We really enjoyed our visit and down the street in the village they were filming Poldarc. The only downfall is the village street did not have any restaurants open between 2-5pm. The Corsham Court is a beautiful home still occupied by the Methuen family. They have a superb art collection that... More
