Nestling in the bottom of the Ouse river valley near Bath, the garden at Iford is wonderful. Approached from the winding single track lane (off the Bath road) you reach the valley bottom and the house and river bridge before it come into view. Stunning location, a collection of old stone houses sit round the manor, which sits directly opposite... More

I have been to this place a few times and the first time there reminded me the paradise! This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places in the south west. It is definitely worth of a visit.

I came across this place whilst cycling from Freshford. It was an atmospheric summers day and threatened to thunder. The skies were grey and bright at the same time. Finding this place under such circumstances heightened its already burgeoning beauty. The place delighted in many ways. Cream tea served from the house keepers hatch was delicious. The scones were the... More

This garden is a must if you are nearby Bradford-on-Avon. The garden is huge and beautiful. Perfect place to spend a relaxing afternoon. There are flowers, statues and columns everywhere. It's italian design, what you probably wouldn't expect in England and makes a pleasant surprise.

The gardens are delightful, with many statues and a varied plant layout. If you do go, don't miss a cream tea, the fruit cake is delicious and cream, scones and tea are always welcome. as a bonus there was a string trio playing

A lovely garden only open a few days per week from 2pm - 5pm. We saw it through the Gardener's World 2-for-1 garden booklet and as we were in Bradford-upon-Avon took the opportunity to visit. The garden is built up a hillside with different terraces, statuary, ponds, herbaceous planting. It is set in a beautiful valley with surrounding fields and... More

We came here for my partner's 65th birthday, on the recommendation of friends. We both enjoy taking photographs, and there is much here among the architecture and statuary to catch the eye and the lens. It;s delightfully laid out, and the steep terraces are all linked by steps, which posed no problems to my partner, who sometimes has problems with... More

I went last Saturday on a Girls Day out (well, afternoon) purchased through Groupon. Iford Manor opens at 2.00 and shuts around 5.00, but they're very flexible about closing. The grounds are lovely and the afternoon tea is to die for with a very wide range of refreshemtns available. You are allowed to take dogs too. All in all, a... More
