We visited the gardens only not the house. We arrived just as it opened and beat the large crowd on a bank holiday. Rhododendrons were in full bloom. The staff were very helpful. We took our time enjoying the solitude, history, and beauty. I highly recommend it.

Rarely does anywhere exceed the expectations you might have from looking at its advertising brochures. Stourhead did. The gardens are simply magnificent. Far and away the very best we have experienced (of many) and jaw-droppingly gorgeous from angle after angle. The house too was surprisingly interesting with a genuinely lived-in feel about. The whole experience was so good we went... More

You should really take the time to visit this wonderful garden. I was here in the 90s as part of a university project and I've been hankering to come back ever since. I'm so glad I did.

A great day here, at this time of year many of the trees and shrubs are in full bloom, an amazing sight. Lovely walks and grounds and a pub stop half way round!

Having been to Stourhead many times this week was the first time in the spring. The gardens were magnificent with colours really standing out. The staff were polite and helpful as I was organising the trip for our local library. Weather good and really showed the garden off well. Although lot's of cars in the car park it was easy... More

This is a national trust property on the Wiltshire/Somerset border, it's a very pretty property with beautiful well cared for gardens and lovely places to walk, including King Alfred's tower that over looks the Stourhead estate and there a large woodland you can walk around! This property is well maintained.

When we visited Stourhead, it was heaving with people. There was a triathlon going on, so we didn't bother with the grounds around the house, or the house, but carried on round the gardens. We have been many times and the gardens never fail to impress. They are one of the National Trusts most beautiful gardens.

The jewel in the crown of National Trust Properties. You could spend more than a day here. it even boasts a pub - The Spread Eagle - so you be refreshed with Real Ale and a seat
