Visited today and saw the house with a very informative tour guide. The house is beautiful , the ceilings especially so. The staircases are certainly different. Outside there is the lake with boats to hire, a lovely rose garden, and a great adventure playground with a maze, Lovely place to have a picnic, or have afternoon tea on the terrace... More

We went to the open weekend on 8 March - the weather wasn't as good on the Sunday as it had been the previous day, but this was probably just as well as we heard that lots of people had been turned away on the Saturday. We had to queue for a while to get in, but that wasn't a... More

I am in late 40s and used to visit regularly with grandparents and parents as child. My father on the trip there talked about meeting Hugh Seymour several times when visiting and how he was always friendly and talked to him. (often about repairs to the house and his dogs and how he had his kids running donkey rides to... More

I'd been before but never had a tour of house. Great guide very interesting and learnt some unusual facts. Gardens are a lot better than a lot of stately homes. Food was very a large portion hot very tasty and not expensive. Staff are very friendly and helpful

I booked to go on the Grand Garden Tour with some friends. We were in a group of twelve, led by Philip Smith, the Head gardener, on what was probably the hottest day I can remember He took us on an exclusive tour around the garden, explaining its history and recent additions. We also got to see the stables and a... An amazing setting for a day of family fun and relaxation (yes both are possible at the same time) adventure playground is fantastic and provides the perfect opportunity to create those childhood memories of role playing castles, knights and princesses through to Bear Grylls survival dramas hanging from ropes and crossing bridges! Picnic in the dramatic surroundings and then walk... More

We visited as part of a group yesterday. The team made us very welcome and the tour was interesting-Christina's enthusiasm was clear. My only criticism is that I would have enjoyed more time to appreciate the richness of displays, particularly "the Temptation " mural. Stunning. The high-tea was delicious. Next time I want to explore the grounds and see the... More

This wonderful Stately Home is on our doorstep, so we are fortunate enough to have visited on numerous occasions and for different occasions, also. The Marquis of Hertford has always been a friendly host, and often seen around the Hall as was his Father before him. We have been to Classical Concerts in the wonderful ground where the atmosphere is... More
