A large variety of shops and butcher. I always feel at home when I walk in here and always find something interesting to buy.

as we were in Carmarthen we thought we would look in the market. The selection of stalls still remain varyng from a jeweller to antiques to cakes and bread and cheese. Its an interesting place to visit with loads of friendly faces both walking around and behind the stalls, hence the atmosphere is great. We went into a little café... More

No trip to Carmarthen is complete without a trip to the market. If you go self-catering then stock up here and not in local supermarkets. You must try the local butter not packed in paper - real butter that you will not be able to get enough of. I stock up on cured and spiced Carmarthen Ham for my daughter... More

The new market may be clean and warm with piped music in the toilets and with an array of independant traders, however if you are claustrophobic,or looking for a traditional market experience then it isn't for you. In my opinion the market is cramped, the stalls are too uniform in design and layout, you can not see 'across' the market... More

The market trades 6 days a week & has a decent little cafe. There are stalls to please all tastes - I especially liked the local meats sold as burgers (I had a Herdwick hogget burger for lunch) & sausages at very reasonable prices, the local veg & other produce (Welsh cakes) - and inside was a cooking demo and... This is as much a comment about the town as it is the market which itself has an interesting variety of stalls and is really well integrated into the town, a really good shopping centre. It all flows well and everything is easily accessible. As well as the usual multinational stores there are independent retailers including those in the market... More

Anyone who is tired of boring multinational companies should visit Carmarthen Market in order to restore their jaded palettes. Superb, home-produced food at low prices. The best ham you will ever, ever taste. Honey, cakes, jams, pies, cheese, bacon and much more. Also interesting crafts and antiques and a friendly shop selling Welsh books, crafts and music.Lovely fishmonger who sometimes... More
