Amazing castle! Great info on the history of the castle. Great photo opportunities. Very scenic and the views are out of this world. Staff are extremely helpful and informative and even gave my 2 children paper and crayons to do rubbings as they walked around the castle grounds. Highly recommend

I figured that exploring a castle on a cold February day would not be daunting to my Icelandic friend and I was right, she loved it. It is a great place to explore, to climb up into, and to learn more about the area from the information & displays. Be sure to go into the tower & find the 'throne... More

Excellent value for money..three quid pensioner entry...fine example of Norman / Welsh castle construction. Takes you right back to knights and fights ..Easy access and informative brochures. Very clean toilet facilities. One can spend many hours here.

My boyfriend and I visited this castle with our 2 dogs. The entry price was reasonable. It was a ruin but what we liked was that there was enough left to be able to visualise what the castle was like. Plus you could climb up and some rooms were still intact which we found quite exciting. The dogs enjoyed exploring... More

Lovely little castle. Small car park outside. Fantastic views worth a visit to break up your day. Overlooks a river. We were blessed with a sunny day but could be a bit slippy in the rain

What a lovely well kept castle, it is easy to I again what it would have been like, I really liked the voice boxes around the castle, we are so lucky to have it in such good order, and what an amazing view from the top, the gift shop was very well stocked, with a very friendly knowledgeable lady there,... Very well kept castle with lots to explore. It is easy to imagine what it was like back in the day when it was used 'in anger'.

My girls love pretending to be princesses, so this castle is a good place for them to provide a setting. Took a picnic in with us and we all loved it there. For the historic, photos and of course the Princess adventure. Will say that in wet weather is rather slippery and with our youngest (2 years, at time), towers... More
