If your staying local and want to visit a castle? This is the one to visit, amazingly intact and has a fabulous atmosphere and gives you a real 'feel' of what it must have been like to live in this age. Fantastic views and lots of activities for kids during the summer months. I also know a couple who had... More

We stayed locally and thought we should go and see the local castle expecting not much more than some ruins. The castle is amazingly intact and you really get a feel for how it must have looked. We visited on a fine day and with access allowed to higher areas the views were amazing. Admittance is a bargain and real... More

We visited the castle on the spur of the moment, and as we were in the area. We've been to quite a few ancient monuments and found this one fascinating. It's well worth a visit.

Went here with my son and daughter (9 & 12yrs) on a cold day at the end of Feb 2014 in half term. It cost £10 for us to get in and we were given a map, so off we went to explore. It’s such a lovely castle with lots of places to explore. Stairs to climb that leading up... More

My husband's sister was staying in Kidwelly on a special hotel break & we met up for the day. Despite atrocious weather, we all enjoyed our visit & found it very interesting. Signage & info were very good & on a better day, we would have stayed much longer.

We weren't sure what to do on a recent holiday and just followed a sign marked castle! What a treat (the weather was good to us) a lovely entrance through the gates and you then have the ability to explore all that is still safe to do so. Basement room and top of turrets still have original stairs but be... More

Hadn't visited since my children were small and this time I was with a US guest on their first visit to Wales. The first impressions were great with easy access, friendly staff selling tickets and lovely and clean. The castle was exactly as she imagined one should be. It was great to explore rooms and the views from the top... More
