Description: The best sixty minutes of rib-tickling historic escapism you'll find in...
The best sixty minutes of rib-tickling historic escapism you'll find in Skipton. Our canal trip promises you a guided tour that's fun whatever the weather with the finest countryside views you can get without moving your feet. Your guide for the canal tour is award-winning comedian Dave Spikey of Phoenix Nights and 8 Out of 10 Cats fame. With his characteristic Northern patter, Dave takes you on a whistle-stop tour of Skipton and canal history that's refreshingly different to your average commentary. Above the jokes and laughter, you'll hear points of interest and fascinating stories of how the Leeds & Liverpool canal delivered the lifeblood of the industrial revolution through Yorkshire. There's food and drink on board too so it's a fun twist to your lunchtime break. Our lively canal trip proves you don't have to let planning or nasty weather get in the way of a good time. Our boat The Cobbydale sails at 10.45Am, 11:50am, 1:00pm, 2:10pm and 3:20pm. (The 10:45am trip runs in the high season, All trips run subject to demand).

A few of us girls had a wee 30 min boat trip up to just below Skipton Castle and back. It cost £4 each and we bought a 50p bag of food to feed the ducks as we sailed along. The boat goes at a very sedate pace and there are a few nice bits to look at as you... More

In pouring rain approx. 20 residents of Mallory Court, Skipton went on a boat trip on "Dalesman". on the Leeds Liverpool canal. The boat and the small but extremely helpful crew were first class in the extreme. Lunch of a pie and mash plus mushy peas was provided by the Pie and Mash shop and was delicious. despite being afloat... More

£8 for an hour on the canal. I'd hoped to see a different side to Skipton, but we didn't really see much at all. The guide gave a well rehearsed oration - it sounded like he's been saying those exact same words year after year, but quite frankly, I'd have preferred the quiet.

We were in Skipton with an hour to fill and tried this canal trip. It's roughly 30 minutes each way for £8 (£7.50 pensioners). Nice scenery and wild life. I would suggest sitting in the middle as at the front the design of the boat doesn't provide the best view. You can buy snacks and drinks on board. What made... More

Owner very shifty and more interested in pushing his Pie and mash shop. Cant understand how this company can win a Group travel award with such horrible customer service!
