Never been on a barge (narrow boat) before. Decided to rent one for a couple of hours with 3 of my children. (15,10,10). We had a great time. After a detailed but not onerous safety briefings, we were off along the Leeds Liverpool Canal from Skipton. My children operated 2 locks on their own and we had a great time.... More

We chose the one hour trip with the on board commentary by Dave Spikey..it was fantastic ,amusing ,entertaining and informative . It was an hour to remember, comfortable seats and hot and cold drinks available. There is even a loo on board. This is must do activity when you visit Skipton

Nice little boat trip round skipton. People were friendly enough and nice to see some of the sights from a different perspective. Not the longest boat ride in the world but had a pleasent experience.

I wished to book an 80th birthday treat so rang and left 2 messages over 3 days but received no return call. I went in person to the office to find it shut 20 minutes prior to the expected departure at 11 am and again the phone diverted to a prerecorded message. I did find the office finally open at... A 50 th birthday party of drunks were given better treatment than others who had payed and waited longer . They were so loud we couldn't hear the commentary which may have been the only good bit . Would not recommend this as it's a waste of money . The owners only words were what do u want me to... More

Not highly recommended if you travel with young children. The trip is dull and not scenic at all. The only redeeming feature is the commentary by David Spikey which at least brings some humour to the boredom.

We went on the hour long Canal Tour, with Dave Spikey Commentary. It made us laugh and the trip was nice. The staff were friendly and served us Copper Dragon, which is brewed in Skipton. We were allowed to take our little dog with us too. He fell asleep. Be sure to visit the Pie and Mash shop after.

Travelling along the canal was a fun, cheap but not extraordinary experience. The whole journey took 30 mins but we couldn't see a great deal as the sides of the canal were quite steep and the boat did not move very fast. The skipper was very nice and informative though. We went just the three of us which was great.
