Stayed in Kapalua specifically to be close to The Plantation Course. I had scheduled myself to play 3 weeks after aeration. Plenty of time for the course to heal. Two days before playing, I had heard there was a problem with the greens, but decided to play anyway. The course is spectacular. I've seen pros play it on TV and... More

Not an easy track and local knowledge would be a big help on the first time around. Tried to get a caddy but needed 48 hour notice. Not sure how you can walk the course though as there are some LONG green to tee walks. Discounted our fees because greens not quite back from aeration. Nice gesture, not really required... More

I played here yesterday. . The layout is great and from tee to green, it is very challenging. Especially if you have the strong winds blowing that day. The greens are still recovering from the aerification process. They have a lot of sand on them and have a few more weeks to go. The course would be significantly harder if... More

They told us ahead of time that the greens had just been punched, but it looks like there is a bigger issue, a fungus in the greens. If you have never played this course, play it for the spectacular view and the well designed golf holes. If you want perfect conditions before dishing out $300 with rentals, then you may... More

I played the course with my golf pro hubby and was a bit concerned given its difficult reputation, as I hadn't played much recently and I wanted to enjoy the day. Almost every hole has something to offer either by the spectacular view or the layout of the hole. After a slow start (play off 13), I warmed up and... More

Having seen this course over the years on the PGA circuit, really wanted to play it. Yes at around £300 for a round (including good quality club hire and buggy) it does make you flinch a bit! But to be fair the whole experience is amazing and undoubtedly the best course I've ever played by a country mile. The views... More

This is one course that is a must play. Be warned it is not an easy course by any means. With multiple uphill side hill down hill and every other kind of lie you can imagine you will find here the course is a ton of fun to play. It was extremely windy when we teed off and it stayed... More

There are probably more beautiful views in the Islands, but I don't know where they are. The scenery surrounding the Plantation course is spectacular. However, I'd recommend that most people, including most golfers enjoy a dinner at the Plantation House Restaurant in time to catch a sunset rather playing a round of golf. The playing conditions can be absolutely dreadful.... More

Great golf course. When you watch the pros play here in January, you can't get a complete feel for the extensive elevation changes on the course. Very playable from the resort tees, however you better know how to hit the ball from extreme downhill and uphill lies. It is incredible that the pros can walk and play this course for... More
