I played the course with my golf pro hubby and was a bit concerned given its difficult reputation, as I hadn't played much recently and I wanted to enjoy the day. Almost every hole has something to offer either by the spectacular view or the layout of the hole. After a slow start (play off 13), I warmed up and... More

Having seen this course over the years on the PGA circuit, really wanted to play it. Yes at around £300 for a round (including good quality club hire and buggy) it does make you flinch a bit! But to be fair the whole experience is amazing and undoubtedly the best course I've ever played by a country mile. The views... More

This is one course that is a must play. Be warned it is not an easy course by any means. With multiple uphill side hill down hill and every other kind of lie you can imagine you will find here the course is a ton of fun to play. It was extremely windy when we teed off and it stayed... More

There are probably more beautiful views in the Islands, but I don't know where they are. The scenery surrounding the Plantation course is spectacular. However, I'd recommend that most people, including most golfers enjoy a dinner at the Plantation House Restaurant in time to catch a sunset rather playing a round of golf. The playing conditions can be absolutely dreadful.... More

Great golf course. When you watch the pros play here in January, you can't get a complete feel for the extensive elevation changes on the course. Very playable from the resort tees, however you better know how to hit the ball from extreme downhill and uphill lies. It is incredible that the pros can walk and play this course for... More

I played Kapalua in March and it was one of the best tracks I have ever played. To put it in context I have played Pebble Beach and Kiawah Island amongst other top US courses and Kapalua rates at the top with these other courses. Definitely a must play on the bucket list. The views are spectacular (whales breaching can... More

This is a wonderful course that has impeccable upkeep. Typically it is usually windy at this course. I had the good fortune of playing it three separate times with little to no wind. It is fun to play this course, for the average golfer reading the greens and putting can be the most challenging aspect of this course. I enjoyed... More

Beautiful course with amazing views in the upscale Kapalua area of Maui. The assistant pro in the pro shop (Michael) could not have been more friendly and welcoming when we stopped in to inquire about golf. This course is pricey, especially for average Joes like us - $295 for morning play (in March, anyway) - you get a $30 discount... More

I am used to having more distance from the men's to the forward tees on a resort type course. The setup here makes for a long day if you don't have distance. The tall grass on the side means any ball ob is gone. It's a beautiful course with sweeping views and interesting bunkers.

Now that the Prince Course on Kauai has become "private", the Kapalua Plantation Course has become my top Course in Hawaii. I have one or two "must play" courses on each island and the Plantation is my only one on Maui. The course is seen on TV each January when the PGA Tour comes here. The pros make the course... More
