This converted and renovated former Carthusian monastery is now home to an art museum, extensive gardens, conference center and hotel/restaurant. We went simply to enjoy walking the grounds on a beautiful autumn day. It is a peaceful place and affords views of the surrounding countryside. Nice breakfast, good combination of menu for meet lovers and vegeterians, local apple juice and vines a good option for dinner.

i had a business meeting at Hotel Kartause Ittingen. .Arrived late at night and taxi dropped us 300m from hotel reception (seems no cars allowed in compound). We had to walk, with luggage in tow, in the pouring rain, to reception. After collecting the keys, we again have to walk on unsheltered path to our hotel room. It was raining... More
