Just a neat area to see. Lots of restaurants and bars and little shops. Since we were staying in Esperanza we spent a lot of time here..

This was a beautiful area, but the restaurants are very expensive. More expensive than the main island. Dinner for 4 at Bili was $180. and the food was just ok.

If you like to see people jumping from a Pier, loud Spanish music, lot of wacky places and cheap and greasy food here it's the place. This place it's the liveliest place on the island of Vieques, you can walk threw the different food trucks, tasting: lobsters fritters, crab fritters, "Alcapurrias" etc. even If you want to spend more money,... We arrived in Esperanza for dinner and decided to walk around after. We meet a very nice lady selling shirts and gifts right on the Melecon. We spent some time shopping and talking with locals. Every thing is at a nice slow pace.

It pains me to give 3 stars, but here's why. First of all, I want to set expectations about it and Esparanza in general. When we were in Isabella, people said that everyone (local) goes to Esparanza on the weekends. So we thought wow it must be really hopping. Whoa, slow down. This is still Vieques. There are maybe a... More

The Malecon offers gorgeous views and was very lively, even on weeknights during the off-season. Plenty of restaurants and bars to suit every taste.

The Malecon is where you hang out, eat, drink, meet new friends, and watch spectacular Caribbean sunsets. It is lined with the best restaurants on the island of Vieques. It is the only place on the island with a real nightlife too. Technically speaking, it is the long sidewalk along the shore of the town of Esperanza. Opposite the shore... More

The Malecon is an area between the road and the beach. Nice sidewalk that is dotted with covered benches every so often. A stroll along the Malecon will allow a lovely view of boats at anchor and it also is a great way to walk to one of the many beach bar/cafes on the street.

It was lots of fun choosing the different places for dinner each night and local vendors often are set up selling lovely souvenirs. The sea glass jewelry was my favorite!
