Avoriaz and the genuine alp village Morzine have one of the biggest ski systems. Due to the situation in the western part of the alps there are always a lot of snow. We prefer living and eating in Morzine and skiing in Avoriaz and further in to Switzerland. Morzine is only one and half hour away from the airport of... More

Get up to Les Mosettes, the highest point. Its incredible. Happy Hours Bar at the Ardent Bubble (mostly for sesonaires) does fabulous selection of burgers and hot dogs different to other menus.

Kids loved the snowpack but the drag lift was busy. There was also no where no eat or drink by the snowpack which was a shame as we would have stayed longer if there was. Didn't ski much around Avoriaz as we headed to Switzerland, as so near. Wouldn't stay in Avoriaz as didn't like the idea of staying in... More

Loved resort and facilities. Plenty of lifts, runs, off piste. Poor signage and not well linked; i.e. start signing a place then stopped at y junction! also very poor connection to Les Gets, involving long walk or pathetic "fun train" that is not fun or a train or convenient.!!

Bit of an eye-sore built into a beautiful bowl in the french alps. Lots of restaurants and runs but it's a false town and like Vegas, shouldn't exist outside of tourism...

We were here last weekend and the skiing was phenomenal. We ventured up from morzine via the super morzine gondola and then it was a couple of easy runs/chair lifts up to the main skiing are in alvoriaz! The sun was shining, the views were breath taking and the skiing was great, what more could anyone else ask for! Would... More

Marmite of the alps - either you love Avoriaz architecture or you hate it. We were just skiing there so loved it for the great snow conditions

If the fog descends on Morzine, head for Avoriaz. The main ridge in Morzine is ~1800m. Avoriaz village is this height with its peaks higher still. Plenty to ski here. As others have mentioned, the return trip can be rather crowded at peak times. Breathe in on the shuttle bus! If you want a pretty looking resort, then Avoriaz may... More

Took my kids here Xmas 2014 Had a great time refreshing skiing skills with instructor Jo from ESF. Kids all learned to ski and very impressed especially considering lack of snow over Xmas.
