60s architect designed - bit like a film set! Curiously deserted in Summer like a ghost town! Worth a visit though as the views are good.

This ski resort is one of the highest in the area so, like in January when the snow was slow arriving, can be really busy as people flock to ski when the lower resorts are closed. They keep the lifts running smoothly, and the runs themselves are really well maintained.

Avoriaz is a must see. even if you are not a fan of french brutalist concrete architecture. the new prodains lift gets you up in 5 ish minutes and then Avoriaz is in front of you precariously placed on the side of the mountain. Despite several visits I am still amazed how it got built and what people must have... More

Well kept resort with fabulous ski runs in perfect order. They were well groomed each day and rarely crowded. The village is delightful to wander round after a day on the mountains with plenty of coffe houses and bars where you can soak up the atmosphere and chill out. At night when the lights all come on the village takes... More

Hart of the portes du soleil, where sun is shining most of the time. lots of km slopes, like it that you can skee between trees. Very good views. Avoriaz higher elevation, morzine, les gets etc around 1000m so snow quality a bit less here at end of season. All types of accomodation, good restaurants, lot of fun!

Snow sure late in the season. Plenty of reasonably priced restaurants for lunch stops. Friendly family orientated resort.

1.Check out the website of Avoriaz. It’s very easy to use and to follow. It can help you to plan your trip. Call the representatives if you need to; they speak good enough English 2. Regardless of where you are (specially if you’re in Europe or to be more exact in Madrid :), I think the best option to get... More
