Yes, Avoriaz is a bit of a sprawling out of place high rise jungle.....but it is perfectly located with very easy access to Morzine, Les Gets and the Swiss resorts too. Lots of good fast lifts and the resort is well maintained from a piste perspective. Avoriaz itself can be busy when the snow isn't great elsewhere but usually with... More

A focused resort, ideal for boarders and young groups. Tight village of shops, bars, restaurants. It's height gives a greater chance of snow, but occasional problems with wind at the top may close the higher lifts.

Week in Avoriaz with five other guys skiing, loads of snow with bright sunny days. Plenty of good restaurants and bars for apres ski after fun on the snow. Although very expensive area to eat and drink, the amount of extensive skiing to be had in France and Switzerland made it worth while. Great time had by all.

Visited the resort for the first time after having been on many European ski holidays in the past. It was a great resort for all, there was a good range of runs and loved the fact that the you could ski through the town. Couldn't have asked for better snow conditions either. Would definitely return to the resort again in... More

In 2015 I visited the first time the European Gay Ski Week in Avoriaz. I had a friend which was already in alpe d'huez, so we went together to avoriaz. First I like to say that the resort in general is great. The resort is in the middle of a giant ski area with more than 250 lifts. The slopes... More

Beautiful ski resort, great restaurants, miles of trails, etc. No discernable grooming of the runs however. Given the amount of snow received, somewhat understandable... However know that if you are an intermediate skier like me, the lack of grooming made skiing very difficult. If you are used to US groomers, and you are here when it dumps, look out...@quadburnafter2runs!

Avoriaz was great for more snow. Due to the date that we went there was alot of people skiing at Avoriaz as Morzine had not had much snow so alot of the runs were closed. Buses from Morzine side to the lifts for Avoriaz ran regularly. They were also free.

Fabulous resort with enough slopes for every level of skier. Can get busy at weekends with the locals coming up to ski but most of the slopes are wide and long enough to ski without too many problems.
