Small museum showing evolution of the city , the harbour, the ships, the coast...A lot of items used before for the fishing, a lot of models.

Interesting visit about the maritime history and heritage of Dieppe, but don't go if you are expecting a load of aquariums.

Hello, We are sorry that the visit is not what you expected . We try to communicate our place as a museum - aquarium, which has aquariums from the Channel but also exhibitions on fishing, shipbuilding, coastal environment ... These exhibitions have interested you , so I hope you do not regret your visit too ! Thank you for your... More

A very good and interesting museum about the sea, fishing and boat building. The staff were very helpful and friendly and gave us a big book on the various articles which was helpful. The beach with all the rubbish found was a real eye opener. There was a lift for my husband to use to enable a full visit. The... More

Friendly staff with good spoken English. We were handed a thick English guide/folder with lots of information in it. The videos downloaded via QR codes spread out around the museum were not worth bothering with (one of them ended with "wet paint" sign and doorway, made me laugh thou). However the yellow digital stand was very good. Overall it is... More

There are several sections to this museum (adult entrance €7), the enginering side of boats/boat making, models of Dieppe, lots of information on the fishing industry in Dieppe - with a little film, a display showing the rubbish collected from the beach/local sea area (quite eye opening) and some tanks with local sea life. We were in there for over... More

Overall I was impressed with the quality of this museum for its size. Exhibits on boats, fishing, and nature of the region are well designed. Personnel are welcoming, price is reasonable. The aquariums are very enjoyable and impressive if you go in with the right expectations: these are not massive top-notch displays (ie: don't expect to see sharks), but rather... More

Lots of ship/boatbuilding info and interesting to me as an engineer. The exhibit showing the junk thrown into the sea should be made compulsory viewing for everyone! The aquarium is small and slightly disappointing, but the place is worth the admission (€7) and this gives a discount off entry to the chateau.

A very good little aquarium and museum thingy. Good boating/ship exhibits with plenty of information. I can't remember if the info is in French or English or both. I love the fish! Some of them pop their noses out of the water as you go up to the tank. Fantastic! Great for the children, I would have thought.

We passed on the D-Day museum and sent to this one instead. The person whom we paid was extremely helpful. Most everything was labeled in French but the museum did have a booklet describing the exhibits in English. It ended with a visit to aquriums, which we enjoyed. The town of Dieppe was a pleasant surprise--almost as nice as Honfleur--but... More
