Even on a mild sunday this trail is not busy and it's hard to understand why as it is very scenic. We caught number 19 tram to stop 38 at Coburg Lake and walked all the way back to Melbourne frome there. 13 kms. All off road but on paved surface. Lovely. And on the way detour past Ceres community... More

The Merri Creek is a major tributary of the Yarra River. They join eachother just above Dights Falls in Abbotsford. The trail runs along a green corridor threading its way through suburban Melbourne. Its great for walkers and cyclist alike. Along the route are information panels about the local flora and fauna, plus others describing places of Aboriginal significance. It... More

Got lost on a bike (Melbourne's a great place to do that!) and found the Merri Creek Trail which I followed all the way to Bridge Street and then down into Flinders Street. Really lovely trail following a running river part of the way, thank you Melbourne drivers for being so considerate of cyclists, it's enough to make me want... More

its a great walk, run or cycle path that joins the Yarra City Trail from the city. Has some lovely spots to stop and be still or enjoy a treat/coffee

Having just cycled the trail for the first time in a long time, it is great to see that is clean and well maintained. The path connects into the main Yarra Trail so you can ride all the way into the city. There is one section in Richmond where you need to carry your bike up two flights of stairs,... More

this is a great little tour for a weekend bike journey. Josh (only 2, sitting on the back) loves the journey and the river all the way along.

This great trail can be followed from Reservoir to it's confluence with the Yarra River at Dights Falls. Here it joins the Yarra Trail.

I used to use the track regularly to cycle to work from home in North Fitzroy to get to work in Richmond. It's a great way to avoid the hustle & bustle of the city traffic & although not demanding a good form of exercise. There are many interesting things along the way & if you go all the way... More

Melbourne’s Merri Creek Trail is a 23 km paved path for bicycles and pedestrians. The northern end meets the Western Metropolitan Ring Rd Trail in Campbellfield and the Southern end meets the Yarra River Trail near Dwight’s Falls, Collingwood. I have cycled along this trail many times and found it to be a safe easy riding path used by commuter... More

This combined walking and bicycle trail extends north for about 20 kilometres from Dights Falls on the Yarra River at Abbotsford, where it junctions with the Capital City Trail. I walked most of it recently with the section closer to the city being the most enjoyable. While works on the Clifton Hill rail duplication project have resulted in some diversions... More
