A greed oasis in the middle of suburbia. Great place to unwind and escape hurly burly. Cur across to Yarra Bend park and the Yarra River walk for some added bliss.

The bike path can take you from Collingwood Convent to Ceres and Coburg Lake. Or just a short stroll around Dights Falls and on to Fairfield Boat House. There is a big colony of flying foxes in Yarra Bend Park, and it is a great spectacle when they fly out at dusk. Yes, one has to be mindful of snakes... More

With just a bike/pedestrian path, you might almost think you were out in the bush. On a previous visit I saw an echidna. This time I just saw a wide variety of birds.

a beautiful trail to walk or cycle, so quiet and peaceful. towards ceres, listen to the sonorous pings of bell birds as they flit from tree to tree. i can easily spend the whole afternoon listening to the birds.

We had a fun sunny day trying to find the source of Merri Creek (rumoured to come from a spring that makes your beard grow full and lush). We never found it but found many a surprise (and coffee) on the way.

This trail forms part of the Capital Bike Trail and is well signposted and has many access points. We took this ride on a Sunday and it wasn't very crowded.

Beautiful place for a stroll or a bike ride along the creek. The path is full of lots of great places to stop for a picnic as well. Unfortunately there arnt nearly enough barbecues along the trail :(

Even on a mild sunday this trail is not busy and it's hard to understand why as it is very scenic. We caught number 19 tram to stop 38 at Coburg Lake and walked all the way back to Melbourne frome there. 13 kms. All off road but on paved surface. Lovely. And on the way detour past Ceres community... More

The Merri Creek is a major tributary of the Yarra River. They join eachother just above Dights Falls in Abbotsford. The trail runs along a green corridor threading its way through suburban Melbourne. Its great for walkers and cyclist alike. Along the route are information panels about the local flora and fauna, plus others describing places of Aboriginal significance. It... More
