The opportunity to see and photograph so many hummingbirds within arm's reach was quite a treat. The highlight of the afternoon though was Theo's enlightening presentation which gave some little known facts about Trinidad's hummingbirds. We were touched by the clear love he has for these spectacular creatures and for spreading the word about them. And the refreshments provided by... More

We were lucky enough to be taken to Yerette by friends who live in Trinidad and we were truly delighted by the experience. It was not an easy place to find but well worth the effort so don't be put off by the lack of street signs etc....Theo, the owner, is very good at giving directions over the phone if... More

For the hummingbird experience of your life, head for Yerette. This private garden is full of the colourful, flighty creatures. They are fascinating and the owner, Theo, is the ultimate enthusiast who is very keen to impart all of his knowledge. The presentations were a little lengthy for my liking, but I wouldn't have missed the opportunity to see so... More

Absolutely spectacular experience!!! Place is full of hummingbirds and they are everywhere! Theo (owner) will give you a nice 1 hour long presentation, not tiring at all, with enough level of details for a tourist and will present some interesting facts. You are also offered a bowl of very nice homemade soup made by his Mrs. with buns and soft... More

He is the place to learn about humming birds. The garden is full of feeders and birds. Dr Theo talks interestly and lucidly about his passion. Well worth the drive up the hill. We had a light lunch which was also delicious. The visit finished with a slideshow which demonstrated Dr. Theo's skill with the camera.

We visited Yerette with our guide David on one of our day trips out of Asa Wright. Theo has the yard handsomely distributed with nectar feeders. My group was made up of birders and although we had seen some of the hummers already in the bush, it was at Yerrete that we could really work on our ID of most... More

This is an ok place to visit if you just want to see hummingbirds up close and personal. They have 15 of the 17 varieties and Theo, ( the guy to whom the house belongs) is very knowledgeable. The mandatory slide show goes on a bit. For me there were far too many artificial feeders everywhere, I like to see... More

If you're in Trinidad you must visit this place. It's beyond me to describe what a garden full of humming birds looks and feels and sounds like so you'll just have to go yourself. Theo is a great guy and patiently answers questions from guests that he must have heard hundreds of time before. Did I say it was fantastic?

Went to Yerette with my family for the first time today. Chirping & the flutter of wings greeted us as we walked up the driveway...I had never seen so many hummingbirds! The experience started with an interactive lecture by Theo on the significance of the hummingbird in Trinbagonian history & culture, as well as on general facts about the birds... More
