Description: Winton lands predate the Magna Carta; and the Setons built the House...
Winton lands predate the Magna Carta; and the Setons built the House before Leonardo da Vinci established his reputation. Their architect, the King's Master Mason, didn't work on ordinary castles! His carved, twisted chimneys still herald the palace within and his ornate plaster ceilings are the most elaborate in Scotland. A Castle for Hire with a Warm Welcome Winton House remains a private house, but one which is available for hire for a wide variety of functions. It has architectural grandeur and history, but is not aloof or austere; you are welcomed warmly as a guest into a home (mine!). Corporate Events with a Twist Winton House can be exclusively yours for memorable corporate events, gala dinners, incentive events, private parties and special celebrations. The House's interconnecting reception rooms are ideally laid out for conferences and meetings. A Wedding Venue with Real Romance For a truly Scottish wedding, Winton is one of the most romantic wedding venues in the country and will make your big day a memorable one. Look no further if you're considering country house or castle wedding venues! If you're looking to develop your management team's performance and collaborative skills then we can offer a range of interesting and innovative events, including: 4x4 driving; Archery; Clay Pigeon Shooting; Falconry; Golf (East Lothian has some of the finest courses in Scotland); The Winton Highland Games; Hovercraft driving; Whisky tasting; and Wine and Champagne tasting.

I have just come back from holding a commercial event at Winton House for 15 of our Scottish re-sellers. The event took place over 2 days. The location is unbelievable. Wonderful countryside and beautiful grounds all perfectly (and no doubt tirelessly) maintained by the team at Winton House. The welcome and assistance we received from James (General Manager) and his... More

I booked a stag weekend to Edinburg and also arranged for some shooting at Winton House in January 2015. From booking to the actual shooting the team at Winton House could not be more helpful. We all were encourage to safely learn several traps during the clay shoot by Gordon and 2 other members of the team. not only was... More

We have organized a private event for our whisky lovers' group recently, which includes clay pigeon shooting at the estate, followed by a lunch in the chamber room and a private whisky tasting. It is such a big fun, and a masculine activity. Thanks to John for organizing this and Janis to make it happen.

I came to Winston Estate for a dinner as part of a reunion weekend for an American university. We were a group of about 40 people from all over Europe and from the USA. It was perfect! We were welcomed by a piper and then warmed up with a glass of champagne by one of the fires, before the laird... More

My company was here for a team building in June 2014 and we were heartily welcomed by the General Manager. First we were given a talk on the history of the family and the estate and then offered a tour of the house accompanied by a cup of coffee or tea. The activities (hovercraft, archery, clay pigeon shooting) were very... More

Went to Winton House on the day of their Fun Day at Easter. Was a bit disappointed paying £4 for the carpark/gardens but the £5 I then paid for the tour of the house was very much worth it. Perhaps the weather meant their were less stalls etc than I expected but the own who took us round the house... More

Winton House offers an amazing environment - fulfilling everyone's dream of the best aspects of life in Scotland! The period interiors are inviting, and stuffed with historic treasures. The gardens and grounds are stunning. Overall the atmosphere is both imposing and yet genuinely homely too. Also, the place is managed as part of a country estate with a genuine sense... More

Two of our best friends decided after a loooooong time to tie the knot. The venue, Winton House near Peacaitland. They "hired" the whole place, and we were all free to wander about in these fantastic rooms, except the doors marked Private, and take in the paintings, books and anything you want. It's probably easier to look here. http://www.wintonhouse.co.uk/ Suffice... More
