We wanted to visit the English countryside without the hassle of moving to a different B&B or inn every day or two. We also did not want to drive ourselves. We found the ideal solution with Paul and Susy Wilson at Church House in Dorset. We stayed in their attractive thatched roof cottage for eight nights, in a spacious room... More

We spent 4 nights at Church House after 4 days in London--and it was both a wonderful respite and change of pace from our whirlwind race through the city and a convenient and enjoyable way to tour the Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire countryside. We had great days out in Lyme Regis and Bath and toured private and National Trust homes... More

What a wonderful beginning to our trip -- our stay at Church House and meeting Susy and Paul. The tours were relaxed, informative and the food delicious! The accommodations were up to date without losing any of the charm of staying in a home that was built in the 1700’s. In reflecting back over our trip, we realized there was... More

My husband and I stayed for a week in early September 2014 at Church House. What a delightful experience! Every day was perfect from the gourmet meals to the personalized tours. Even though we were completely busy each day, it was still a relaxing visit. Susy and Paul are amazing, gracious hosts. Their house, built in the 1700's, is beautiful... More

Five days was not nearly enough to see everything Dorset has to offer, and Church House is a wonderful base for exploration. The house is lovely, the hosts friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and Suzy's meals were both healthy and delicious. Paul took our group on four days of garden tours. He did a great job of helping us choose the... More

My week staying at Church House in July was relaxing, educational, fulfilling, and enjoyable. From the gourmet meals partially prepared from Paul and Suzy's garden to the informational tours provided by Paul, to casual evening walks around the village of Shillingstone,  to the comfortable and sparkling clean rooms of the B&B, the vacation exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend Church House,... More

Three gardener friends and I stayed at Church House for a week in July, 2014. We had a delightful time while there. Church House is an 18th century home set in a picturesque village. Our rooms were very clean and comfortable. After a substantial breakfast every day, Paul took us "touring" and we came back tired and happy every evening... More

We spent five nights at Church House in early July, 2014. We loved everything about it! Paul and Suzy were gracious and kind hosts who were friendly, helpful and caring. Suzy's meals were both delicious and imaginative. Paul was our driver and we appreciated his considerable knowledge of the area. We managed to visit all of the places we had... More

We stayed 6 nights at Church House as part of a two week stay in England, in June 2014. We are avid gardeners, and also love to tour stately homes, and so were delighted to find a surfeit of both in Devon. Because I have some physical issues, I was concerned about too much walking/stairs. The fact that we had... More
